Does anybody know of any good trip planning sites for the DLR?

I've been looking for the DL equivalent of this site, allearsnet, etc., but haven't found anything that has the info I am looking for.

Thanks,

Chris

There are some people on this site that can be helpful as well.

ChicagoChris this board doesn't move very fast but there are some members who know a lot about Disneyland!

I'll second the vote for mouseplanet though!

Do you guys know if the Unofficial Guide to Disneyland is really helpful or just a rehashing of the WDW info? I'm pretty sure I'll be out in California the first week of June to visit DL, DCA, Knott's and possibly a few others depending on what non-park activities we have planned. I don't want to buy the guide if its basically going to be a tweaked version of the WDW guide.

Nah, the guide is different. It helps you understand the hotels around DL - which is uber important as being on-site at DLR really isn't neccessary.

I've done GCH and was like "meh" to the place and the perks. I stayed at a hotel about 2miles away that i got from priceline (3* for like $50 a night) and it was much better (not as swanky, but everything i needed and for a killer price).

Plus, i had a rental car so i could really get around and explore California.

I've got a quick question, Len. My family is going to be there the first week in June and we're trying to figure out what to do. We've set aside Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for Disneyland. How should we tour? Based on the number of E-tickets at DL, I'm guessing we should be their at opening for two days. Other than that though, how should we split our time between the two parks.

The summer crowds shouldn't be there quite yet, so the crowds should be pretty light. You aren't going on the weekends, which is great!

You should hit the big E-ticket rides (Indy, Space, Splash...) first thing in the morning. They are a walk on at that time. You should also grab a fast pass for those at that time as well.

You won't need more than a day for DCA. It's a half day park, so you should focus your time at DL since it's the superior park. I would devote at least 2 of the three days for DL, and split the 3rd between the two. (Unless you find yourself in love with DCA and wanting to go back for more.....doubtful though).

We actually love DCA and could easily spend a whole day there. I'd recommend a full day there and heading to Disneyland after it closes. The other two days probably should be mainly for DL but you might want to revisit a couple of the great rides at DCA.

I totally agree with Nicole, hit the big rides first and use fastpass as much as possible.

You didn't ask for specific things to see but let me highly recommend lunch at the Billy Hill and the Hillbillies show in DL. The food is fine - standard counter fare with a great chocolate cake - the show is hysterical! Great place to cool off and relax for lunch while being very entertained!

Our plan usually includes going to the slow loaders first (Peter Pan, Dumbo etc...) and grabbing a FP along the way to get it charging. We often use the late return approach to FP too. If you head straight for the FP rides you'll lose the opportunity to ride the slow loaders with no wait AND the FP rides with no wait.

Kennygman has a point. When we're going with young kids we grab a fastpass and head for fantasyland. Peter Pan will have long waits all day, no matter what time of year. If your kids really want to ride it, do it first.
