That's right... I'm going back. Feb 15-19, staying off site & renting a car for a savings over staying on site.

I'm planning on enjoying the parks in the off season, and going to Hollywood for a quick trip to the Disney Soda Fountain.

If you're gonna be there at the same time, lemme know

I'm not 100% sure about the weather, but I'm gonna pack a raincoat with me.

For being an El Nino year you might catch a break, the weather has been gorgeous with the highs in uppr 60's to low 70's and the nights have been in the mid 40's with no rain in sight for the next two weeks. Hopefully you won't get poured on in Feb.

Now I heard that an El Nino year brings greater then average rainfall to SoCal. Am I wrong with the information I received?

You are right, in general. El Nino generally brings wetter weather to SoCal and drier weather to the Pacific Northwest. But sometimes it flip-flops, as has happened for the last six weeks. SoCal has been dry and sunny, and Seattle and Portland have had record breaking rain in November and December.

The weather service is now picking up the possibility of the jet stream switching about 10 days from now, and dumping rain on SoCal while Seattle has a drier than average winter.

But it could flip-flop again, soak Seattle and bring drought to Los Angeles. Ask Mother Nature for a more definitive answer

I live on Mercer Island, Wa. It's suppose to be dry for the next couple of days but we will get poured on again after that for the next two weeks. This weekend we should have flood warnings all over Western Washington. Like I said in my earlier post El Nino usually brings rain to So. Cal but it looks like So. Cal might catch a break this year even though they need the rain badly:wave:

Hehe - El Nino has kept the weather in the Mid-Atlantic downright balmy. I'd say keep it up, except I really want some snow days. :lookaroun

We were thinking of going February 16-20--can anyone tell me how the crowds are at this time. This will be our first trip to Disneyland and wanted to know if we could get it all during that trip?

I have been trying to book online, but all Disneyland hotels are booked. Any suggestions for the Good Neighbor Hotels? We are form Louisiana and this will be our first trip out west!

I also like that one, and also, the Candy Cane Inn

The Jolly Roger,Anaheim Camelot and the Carousel Inn are good ones. If you like big hotels then the Anaheim Sheraton the Marriott and the Anaheim Hilton with it's 1,600 rooms are also very nice

Just got back from staying at the Sheraton Anaheim on Disneyland Dr....AMAZING hotel and very large rooms. (Of course paying $49/night doesn't hurt either.)

Hi everyone!

My family and I go to Disneyland EVERY Feb for what is now "presidents week", Feb 17th-24th (changes by a few days each year). In the past it was a great week to go, as the crowds were small and the lines were short. But now that most of the public schools in California have been given this week off, it's quite a busy time. There is also a huge convention in town for that week this year, and when I booked our usual hotel, we had a hard time finding a good room.
As for the weather it's hit or miss. Two years ago it was beautiful, high 60's to mid 70's and sunshine. Last year it rained on us for 3 days. It wasn't a hard rain, but it made for a miserable time with 3 young children.
We are going again this year, so who knows, maybe we'll run into some of you!

Yeah...I love the Sheraton. My favorite in the area next to Grand Cali.

Rob, if you have a free day and want a cool experience....go to Warner Brothers and take the VIP tour. Lasts most of the day, includes lunch in the studio cafeteria, and goes WAY behind the scenes. $125...but worth every penny. I can't wait to do it again.

ahh.. update time

Plane tickets... check. I just paid AA my service fees

Park Passes... check. I'm traveling with a CM and his blue pass

Hotel... check. Staying in Garden Grove with breakfast for quite a savings. Even cheaper than CM discount on property.

Rental Car... check. Using a corporate discount to waive the under 25 fees

Club 33... check. Be there, or be square.
