Just spoke to my brother who is there (DL)right now with his wife & 2 kids. They're fine, but he said they have the rides shut down for now. They were actually in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids show when it happened. He said there was an elephant (not sure where an elephant would fit into HISTA...he must've meant something else ) on the screen when the building started to shake and they thought it was an effect like the 3-D shows at WDW.:rolleyes: He & my nephew were trying to figure out how they were doing it since it's a concrete building when they stopped the show and evacuated everyone.

CNN has just reported that Disneyland operation workers are on site and some rides (none were reported) are closed until they were inspected.

5.4 quake shakes Southern California
Tuesday, July 29, 2008
CHINO HILLS, Calif. (KABC) -- A magnitude 5.4 earthquake hit late Tuesday morning two miles southwest of Chino Hills in San Bernardino County.
The jolt was felt from Los Angeles to San Diego, and slightly in Las Vegas. It caused buildings to sway and triggered some precautionary evacuations.
The quake was initially estimated at 5.6, then revised to 5.8, but has been since has been downgraded to a magnitude-5.4 by the U.S. Geological Survey. Twenty-seven aftershocks quickly followed, according to USGS seismologist Kate Hutton from Caltech. The largest were magnitude-3.6.
There have been no reports of any injuries or major damage in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, or San Diego counties.
There is a report of a water main break near Cal State L.A. that has lifted the roadway. Eastern Avenue and City Terrace Drive in City Terrace have reportedly buckled. There's been reported a gap on the northbound 241 connector to the eastbound 91 Freeway. The freeway has not been shut down.
The quake struck at 11:42 a.m. PDT. Buildings swayed in downtown Los Angeles and San Diego for several seconds. Some workers evacuated buildings.
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power has not received any reports of earthquake-related power outages or impacts to the water system. A Southern California Edison spokeswoman says some electrical outages have been reported in Chino, Chino Hills, Diamond Bar and Pomona.
All rides at Disneyland were evacuated. Visitors remain in the theme park in outdoor open spaces.
All Amtrak trains have been stopped for inspections. Metrolink trains have also been delayed in the wake of the quake

Wow I was just there a month ago, It's sad to see all these places I toured on my West coast trip being ravaged by fire and now they got an earthquake jeez.

I just saw Yosemite on the news and I was like, "I remember that exact place.."

DL Earthquake

I was there when it happened. Fortunately, they gave everybody a replacement ticket to come back another time. Unfortunately the line to get them stretched all the way back to the entrance to adventureland from city hall. I was with a group with group tickets so we didn't have to wait in that line.
Most of the rides, though, were shut down for about 3-4 hours. The only Attractions that were down longer than this were the bigger attractions such as Space Mountain and the Mattterhorn Bobsleds.

I am returning to the park tomorrow.:)

Yeah... that's always scary. I was involved in the fires in San Deigo area last October. Nothing like seeing your mail box burn on TV to drain the blood from your face. We're holding our breath right now. It's a tinderbox, yet again. LOTS of dry grass. If someone so much as tosses a cigarette out the window or gets into a car accident that involves a fire - my dog and I'll be back on Evacuation row. :zipit:

I was also there when it happened. And as a Florida girl, I didn't realize what was going on till after it was over.

I was in the center sundial court at California Adventure. Stitch, Mickey and Minnie were signing autographs. I must say everyone working there was totally professional. Stitch even made a joke out of it by running over, grabbing a rail and holding on after it was all over. He was very cute.

Everything was up and operational in a couple of hours. By the time we got over the shock and had lunch, everything was back up and running. The only thing we didn't get to ride was Indiana Jones.
