Disneyland and my honeymoon

We are considering having our honeymoon in California. I instantly thought awesome we can fit a 3 day Disneyland visit into the trip. I'm having trouble finding other honeymoon type resorts in the area however to spend the rest of the trip. I found some cruises out of LA down to Mexico and back. Any other ideas would be great.

Thanks in advance

I was going to suggest a cruise!:)
There are some beautiful resorts down in La Jolla and San Diego you might want to look into. The hotel that the Grand Floridian was based on (and they look SO much alike) is in San Diego.

If you take a cruise, I strongly suggest not using Carnival. We went on a Mexico Carnival cruise, and it was bad. We don't want to go on another cruise again because of that experience.

That was my worry with the 3 and 4 day cruises I was coming across. I just kept visualizing a spring break party boat more then a classy romantic sea voyage. Plus it would have to stack up against Disney magic. We had discussed Napa Valley, but that is so far north. I just can't justify a trip to California without seeing Disneyland (I've only been to WDW). Might as well save on airfare and go to the Caribbean from Massachusetts or WDW if I couldn't visit Disneyland while honeymooning in California. Is it just to developed around Anaheim to find a nice quiet resort on the water to escape away from it all?

Since Anaheim is not on the water, you've got to head west. Take my advice and head southwest. Laguna Beach is beautiful, La Jolla is incredible and really not too far.

NAPA is about a day drive to the north. Would take about 7 hours or so to drive and actually would be a really nice place that or San Francisco. You could see about taking a cruise out of SF maybe to SD or LA. If they have them it would be a 3-4 day trip.

If you were just looking to stay in the socal area I would look into hotels in San Diego. Its about an hour away from DL and that entire area is nice and pretty upscale. Especially the Yacht Club area. Then you have the San Diego Zoo :) One of MY favorite places...The polar bears.
