What’s to be embarrassed about? They are building it. They cleared the land. This event is purely optional. It doesn’t matter if few here chooses to go, but at least one probably will. Disney has more to worry about than theme park attractions. Their whole comic book and movie business is on the verge of collapse with adherence to Wokeness. Captain Marvel will likely underperform due to their lead actress Brie Larson trashing white male fans. Don’t white males review her movie she said. So are they allowed to watch it and give their opinions? Maybe skipping it might be safer. I expect Avengers Infinity War to underperform with such a bad lead-in from Captain Marvel.
I could see Captain Marvel underperforming since no one really seems excited for it, but End Game will be fine. After End Game, however, I think we'll see a real decline. Spider-Man will be ok because Spider-Man, but everything else coming afterwards...

Currently planned (always subject to change), a new Spiderman, Dr. Strange, and Black Panther. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. A Black Widow solo movie, the Eternals, and Shang-Chi ,master of kung fu.

GOTGv3 is in development hell since they ditched the director. Strange and Black Widow should be fun. I've never read the Eternals or Shang-chi before.

No one cares about Doctor Strange. Black Panther will be fine financially but it won't have the cultural impact as the first. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will do poorly without Gunn. Black Widow solo movie is stupid. I don't even know what the other two are.

I'd love to see a TDA suit crack under criticism during a press conference and just blurt out something like, "Enough with the criticism! Look, it ain't my fault a bunch of smartypants (air quotes) "Imagineeeeers" set the bar so high in the past, okay? What do you want from us? Magic??? There's no such thing as magic!!! Grow up!!! We're making money! Lots of money! That's what matters!"

Don't count Capt Marvel out just yet. Early tracking has it having a huge opening, over $100M. I expect it to do $300-$450M.

I know you have been riding this "MCU will be decline after Avengers 4" train for a long time. But there is still no current evidence of that.

What is everything that is coming afterwards?

I expect we'll get an announcement about Phase 4 at Comic-Con this year, which happens before D23 I might add.

Lots of people care about Dr Strange, including me. Post End Game he'll be an important character.

Don't discount the cultural impact of BP, even the second time around. Having a strong African American superhero in a good film, and not something campy, it in itself is a cultural impact.

Not sure why you think a BW film is stupid. I see it in the same vein as spy movies of the 70s-80s, just with a female lead which should be an interesting take on it. I'm hoping its what Red Sparrow should have been, which I actually liked.

Doctor Strange is a boring character.
Black Panther 2 would intrigue me if...
they hadn't killed Klaw
Black Widow is also a boring character.

Boring to you maybe. But Dr. Strange is actually a fairly popular character in the Marvel Universe. And Cumberbatch has been a good match in my opinion for the character.

Not even going to touch the BP2 comments.

As for BW, again boring to you maybe. We'll see how the solo film come across, but I have a feeling as I stated before it'll be a spy movie reminiscent of the 70s-80s spy thrillers.

The current suits in charge seem completely clueless. They just don’t get it. Disneyland is doing well because people still love everything that was done right decades ago by people with actual talent, creativity and a love of what they were doing.

Then to make matters worse some anomaly (in the last 20 years) like Cars Land will come along and they come to the conclusion that the people want IP. So the next time around they give us Pixar Pier and GOTG:MB thinking they’re really giving us what we want when in reality whether an attraction is based off IP or not is irrelevant because theme park fans just want quality experiences. I guess the one disclaimer is merchandise and if that’s what this is all about then I guess it makes cents. Maybe they don’t want to wait a decade or two for original IP to catch fire to sell merch. People seem to love Mystic Manor but how many of those monkeys are being sold?

The visual on that is perfect. You are not just a forum poster, you are a poetess.

While I doubt your visual is what TDA had in mind when some ballsy Millenial Hipster From Marketing pitched this idea to the Gen X TDA Suits who pretend to get what Millenials like, it's exactly what the reality will be at this event.

And thus, I will pass on purchasing a ticket to this upcharge event. Wake me up when they announce the Star Wars Land Previews, please. 🆒

To be honest, I'm so bored with Disney, and they're so opposite of anything that interests me at this point, that people like you are the only reason I even come to the forums at all anymore.

I'm going to end up being one of those people that goes to Disney every few years, and has no idea what I'm talking about in lines around you because I don't care about the park outside of experiencing it with my kids. You know, a normal person.

I've enjoyed Marvel but haven't even bothered with the last few films. Superhero burnout.
For me it's at the point where I'm staring at a screen full of CGI explosions, CGI stunts, CGI monsters and realizing I don't care about the fates of anyone onscreen. Not. One. Single. Character. I like fantasy, but Disney's take on superhero films is just noise and nonsense to me.

Same here. I love movies like Willow, Return to Oz, the Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit but I have no interest in any of the Marvel films. Part of it is the setting I think, with most of them set in the real world. So can we really call Marvel Fantasy films?

I’m also over the 45 minute CGI battle scene finales with blockbusters in general, not just Marvel.

Ever since the Marvel and Star Wars takeover, I've gone from being a diehard Disney freak to a person who's grateful for all the fun Disney's given to me and my family over the decades, but realizing that, for me, Disney isn't Disney anymore. With exceptions like the Ducktales reboot and solid, unique films like Zootopia, the current corporation produces little I'm interested in, and it has no interest in its own history, its legacy or its vast, deep archives of classic films and tv shows. It was fun while it lasted. It's like watching the Beatles break up all over again. :D I've got other interests, and will always love the bit of Disney that still entertains me, but the company won't be getting much of my cash anymore. :D
