Disneyland Adventures for Kinect - Report

I bought this game yesterday after staring at it for months at Target. I took it home and pulled out the kinect system (I haven't used it in months), getting ready for some Disney gameplay.

I've never been to Disneyland, but from what I gather, it's basically Magic Kingdom plus some other areas not found in WDW. The graphics were so much fun! I felt the same giddy excitement as I do at the main gate of MK when I saw the train station and Mainstreet USA. I have only completed a few quests and got through the Matterhorn minigame set, but it was A LOT of fun!

The quests, at least so far, seem a little repetetive. Go to Mickey for a quest, then to Donald for an autograph, then take it back to Mickey. Then get Goofy's autograph, then take it back to Mickey. Then take Mickey's picture, then Goofy's picture, then get Donald's hat. Take Donald's picture, take it to Mickey. Overall, I got more of a thrill from being "in" Disneyland than I did from running back and forth between Mickey and the Gang. I did get to meet Beast and I would be lying if I said I wasn't way more excited than I should have been. Especially when I bowed and he danced with me! :sohappy:

The only minigame I've gotten to so far is the Matterhorn. The bobsledding part was actually really difficult, as was the skiing, but I suppose I'll get better at it in time. I'm sure it doesn't help that I am pathetically uncoordinated. I really enjoyed the snowball fight! It was SO much fun! I was extremely surprised when the minigame ended and I suddenly realized that my legs were on fire from constantly squatting down to avoid snowballs! And I'm in pretty darn good shape due to my prior military enlistment! My legs are still burning today!

Overall, having completed only a very small portion of Disneyland Adventures, I am very happy with the purchase. I had my doubts, thinking it might be too "kiddish." But no, it's definitely a lot of fun! And I imagine it would be fun for any adult with a Disney obsession of the same magnitude. I can't wait to meet Belle!

I enjoy this game too!! I'm kind of happy I was able to go to the real Disneyland first, made it more special to see the rides and theming that I remember from my first and only trip so far from a few years ago. I was really hoping they would announce a Kinect Disney World adventures this year, but I don't think I should count it out just yet. Maybe they're waiting for the new fantasyland to be fully complete so they can have a more accurate MK? here's to hoping. In the meantime, I'll keep playing Disneyland and of course Dance Central!!!

I love this game! sounds crazy but part of the reason I got the kinect was because I wanted this game! I was nervous at first because I used to be all about WDW and not wanna see anything DL but it really almost as if I was in MK and it is getting me excited and wanting to go to DL, I am having more fun running around and doing the stupid tasks than playing the minigames because I like seeing the park, and i love the background sounds as well

taking pictures with characters, photopass, and hidden mickeys is fun! and Its fun to get the autographs
the characters are so lifelike its fun! stitch is too adorable! :)

Yes!!! Me too!! When kinect was first introduced I thought it was amazing tech and I wanted one but nothing really pulled me in too much the year it first came out. Then when this game was announced I knew I had to get one. Of course I had to research and make sure I had enough space, thankfully I did. So I did get the kinect and even an xbox for this game, but also for dance central and because I really did want one. And I hardly play the minigames/attractions, they are such a snooze fest. Walking around the parks and hearing the music and doing the annoying tasks for the characters is where it's at!

haha yeah I got an xbox and kinect, well my boyfriend got it for me for Christmas but I waited for it on Black Friday lol I only play the mini games when they force me too! someone posted in a different thread saying he was disappointed that they were mini games and not ride throughs, i totally understand why they made it that way I just wish there was some sort of option because I'd ride them! It would be also cool to ride like the peoplemover and monorail!

Yes!!! But I too understand why they aren't rides. I doubt a lot of people who've never been would see much benefit in going if you could get literally a virtual tour of Disneyland. Great game either way, just wish Disney World adventures was coming this year.

I know! I'm soooo ready to explore more parks!
