Disneyland 1991 - Vol. III

Here’s my plan, feel free to tell me if y'all want anything changed:

Disneyland Park (I don’t see us changing much here)
View attachment 772539
WESTCOT Showcase (A seasonal attraction operating from Thanksgiving to the end of the Lunar New Year due to a theme revolving around celebrating winter holidays, such as Christmas and the New Year)
View attachment 772540
Disney's California Adventure (Your version seems to be the best version to use, but we'll need to replace Avengers and Pixar with some other lands to be period appropriate to the 1990s because Disney doesn't own those yet.)
View attachment 772541
DisneySea Water Park (A water park that’s based on the old DisneySea concept)
View attachment 772542
Disney's Vista Mythica (A park themed to world mythology)
View attachment 772543Pleasure Island (The popular nightclub district of Walt Disney World brought over to Disneyland)
View attachment 772548
  • Obviously we can’t leave out Disneyland
  • WESTCOT should also have the future world type of rides too
  • Yes to a different DCA, glad you said my version was the best
  • Of course, opens in 2005 in Long Beach as a theme park, not a water park
  • No, rather have myths be in WDW with the Mythica concept
  • Maybe Pleasure island, I don’t know

Hi @MonorailRed, I just want to let you know that, as of right now, this project you started in the July of 2023 is still actively being worked on. However, it’s only being worked on by 2 people: me and a new member of the community who goes by @Disney-Universal Fanboy. (He’s the one with the Brer Rabbit PFP) We have a DM where we post ideas for the park and we work frequently! I don’t even know who’s leading anymore and we’ve lost any sense of what year this is set in despite the fact that it’s right there in the title and have added a Princess and the Frog ride in NOS despite that film not coming out until 2009. However, I know that @Disney-Universal Fanboy has a great amount of potential in this, he’s been releasing it as fully as possible, and I am very confident in our ability as a team to make our ideas fit together smoothly! I assume you’re cool with the DM that me and @Disney-Universal Fanboy have for sharing ideas and I’m thinking of showing him some concept art I’m making for a park in this project. (Yes, this is a long-winded introduction to the new member of the project, but some things just have to be extraordinarily lengthy because there’s no way for me to do it shorter and still do justice to my thoughts.)
Edit: Well, this aged poorly!

Due to the Team Birds Project Incident/BirdsGate/Toucan Kingdom, I have a job to fill. You see, 2 days before the Citrus Dreamin comp began, me and Disney-Universal Fanboy were working on a little project together (it was part of this very project, if you're curious) and I would really like to continue working on it with someone else whose morals are higher than his and has a higher level of creativity beyond ”[INSERT UNBUILT CONCEPT] is built”. If any of you want to work on this project in his place, just tell me and I'll start a conversation with you containing most of me and Disney-Universal Fanboy's ideas as well as some new ideas by me. He was an enthusiastic co-worker but he could get very, very, very annoying at times and seemed to have an inability to see value in my concepts that he didn’t like, but somehow valued concepts of mine that fit his ideal park perfectly, so I'm very glad that I don't have to work with him anymore, and that’s not something I say often!

So it's not done yet, but to get some momentum going on this thread here's a quick layout I sketched out for a Greece entry land for the mythology park idea. I assumed hub and spoke layout when drawing it, but it's adaptable to any park layout except perhaps grid or whatever the heck DCA is.
GreekEntryLandMockup .jpeg

It's kind blurry and very haphazard but the cliffnotes write-up is that the entrance is through the hotel (based on the unused WDW Mediterranean Resort concept) much like Paris, those three little shapes are large statues, the large temple facade (bottom right) houses a boat ride through Greek mythology (not the Disney's Hercules version, but a bit darker, with a trip to the Underworld and a Mount Olympus party), with the storefront facades divided into large retail space (center left), dining (top left), and individualized shops i.e. a potter, a winery, other sorts of small spaces that are kind of lost in favor of mass retail space (right). I also added a small horse stable (bottom left) so that there could be (slow) chariot rides around the main square in less busy times of day and one arcade on the left, because (a they provide a cool space for more theming, (b since the main thoroughfare is purposefully on the small side it's operationally necessary, and (c because I really like the idea.
I'll keep working on this if everyone oks the idea for a myth park, and please share any thoughts you have! I'd love to hear everyone's feedback!

I OK this park.
Amazing!!! My one question is: Westcot. Not really a question, so I’ll elaborate:
a. Do we have room to build at least two more parks, plus Disneyland, with expansion pads left over?
b. Is a park exploring the mythology and culture of the world different enough from a park partially exploring the history and culture of the world to warrant its own park?
If not, I think that some of the myth park ideas could potentially be folded into a WestCot. I’d love to try and design an entirely new concept, but I’m more than willing to compromise. Alternatively we could lean more into the fantasy and (ancient) historic aspects for the myth park and more modern cultural aspects for WestCot, and still make it work.
In any case, I’d really appreciate an idea of where the myth park would go so I could work on it some more and try out some layouts. Thanks!

Well, I guess we could combine it with WESTCOT.

So, for an overview... Something like this guys?

I’m guessing I should use the Gate 3 pad for the myth park? I’ll start laying it out to fit in there if that works for y’all.
I was also looking at the land ideas for this park while I was looking for this map in this thread. The main ones I saw were Imperial China, Egypt, Greece/Rome, and either Inca or Maya. I also think that either Medieval Britain (dragons!!!) or Colonial America (headless horseman, Bigfoot, etc) could be fun additional lands.
