Disney'in in the Rain

Head to the parks. I was there the summer when they were in a 9 inch or something drought by the time we left they were like 6 inches over. It rained straight for 2 weeks. The best places to go are depending on how warm and no lightning, the waterparks your already wet. I also like Animal Kingdom the animals tend to be out more and I would ride Kali you can't get any wetter. Magic Kingdom and EPCOT are both good, there are inside attractions and less walking distance. Although if your worried about being wet I would avoid World Showcase. I enjoy the rain when I am down there. I am one of those 20 year olds splashing in the puddles.:p

Ok, we're here at POR watching a rather good Thunderstorm. It's raining pretty heavy and has been doing so since about 2pm (It's now about 7pm) Tomorrow is supposed to be worse until early evening. We were going to go to MGM but if its raining I hear they won't do either of the stunt shows. We already did some of the other attractions at MGM Sunday night. What do the vets here recommend for a very rainy day at WDW.

best,

Kevin and Mona :xmas:

Thanks folks, It was never a question of IF we'd going out into parks in the rain but WHERE :animwink: . Brought poncho's and rain gear so it looks like th plan is to go off to MK first and then hop on the monorail and check out the MK resort's xmas decor and then off to Wilderness lodge for Lunch. A nice leisurely boat ride in the rain could be cool. (hopeully not too cool...).

thanks for all the ideas,

Kevin and Mona :xmas:

And we did have a good, though slightly soggy day :) We got to MK while it was pouring, just at opening at 9am and breezed thru the entire park. We did all our favorite rides with zero wait times (we did Buzz 3 times in row, got my 999999 score :sohappy: ) Park was only starting to fill up as we left at 2pm, very pleased with our rainy day. We transfered over to BW Concierge, got our favorite room and will be heading over to AKL for Jiko's for Dinner. All in all a grand day. Sun's shining right now :sohappy:

It rains with no mercy at WDW. But fortunatly, everytime it did for me, I was inside something. :sohappy: Good example is at Adventureland when it started to drizzle a bit so we avoided the rain by jumping in "Pirates of the Carbiean" for the second time. (Yeah, Disneyland's is better, but it still makes a good time killer ;) ) Once we got out and were at the gift shop, the park was POURING! We stayed inside the shop until it let up a few minutes later. I enjoyed it, but my brother was all "When will it stop?" "Now i'll never see the parade" and crud like that. Ugh, autistic brotehrs. What are ya gonna do?

We usually head to MK. We stopped using ponchos a couple of trips ago though. We prefer umbrellas now. If it is really warm, a poncho is like a personal sauna.

Maybe that makes it even harder to manage though. Because they can't let the water run straight down into the Utilidors, right? So they have to try to slope the walks to let the rain collect in runoff areas. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to happen. There's too many "low" spots in Fantasyland that the water just backs up and pools at.

I don't know. They definitely need to address the issue though. It gets really bad pretty quickly.

Speaking of low spots, outside the Port Orleans Riverside food court door (facing Old Man Island), when it rains a puddle about 2" deep forms. They might have fixed that by now, though.
