Disney World with large family

Hello!

I'm going to DW over the holidays with the boyfriend's family (brother, sister in-law, two young nephews, sister, mom and dad) which gives us a total of 9 members in our group. His parents are taking care of the big ticket costs (hotel, tickets, airfare) and I wanted to offer up a gesture of thanks. Originally I wanted to take the family out to brunch but his sister has already mapped out all of our dining plans. Any other thoughts on something I can plan for 7 adults and 2 kids that would be awesome? Our dates are Dec 31 - Jan 2. Dec 31 at Animal Kingdom and the 1st and 2nd will be split between Disney World and Epcot.

Try for a fast-pass + at Illuminations -- great view spot if wind in correct direction.
You may be too late for anything really special especially now that the crowd levels are going to be really high.
Photo-pass is also an option - that never sells out and you gets lots and lots of pics.

I would check out Disney Floral and Gifts. (http://disneyworld.disneyfloralandgifts.com/category/characters-themes/mickey and friends.do?nType=1)

You can have a surprise waiting for everybody in the room at check in. They have a huge selection of packages available starting under $50 going all of the way up to a couple of hundred dollars. They have one for about $100 that has a tote bag, big hands, mickey and minnie, starter pin set, autograph book, and mickey ears!! For $45 you can get a Mickey "cool sack" that is filled with drinks and snacks. They have all kinds of stuff!!

Thinking about it you never said if you were staying on property or not. This would be a great idea if you are.

Your SIL may have mapped out the dining plans, but you could still cover the tab for one of the meals as a gesture of thanks, if you wanted (or if you're on the dining plan, you could cover the gratuities for the week).

You could also organize a souvenir representative of the trip -- like customized T-shirts, a family photo session or a souvenir photo book made and given to everyone after you get home (don't order one from Disney -- you can make it on Shutterfly for a fraction of that cost, and then wait until they have a 50% off hardcover photo book deal to order it -- they do several such discounts each year).

Buying the Memory Makers and linking it to the whole party Magic bands. It will put all the pictures that you have Cast members take plus all the pictures taken on the rides and Story time with Belle. You can either download off Disney site or buy a DVD and make copies for everyone.

I like the shutterfly book idea, they are so much fun to make and give! Also, if you can't pay for a meal, buy snacks, leave the tip at a big ticket meal.

Get group pictures in front of all of the park icons. When you get home, print out all 4 pics and get a nice custom frame in it with all four pics. I think World of Disney has some really nice ones but I could be mistaken.

Another option is to have something waiting for them in their room upon check in.....see disneyflorist.com. It's pricey but another option nonetheless.
