Disney World Character Casting

This isn’t to shame, make fun or bash this cast member in anyway shape or form but she looks absolutely nothing like the character. Her mannerisms were not even close and as someone who has had a couple friends who were dead ringers for characters and were not hired, how does someone who looks and acts nothing like the character get the spot?

We returned from another great trip to the World a few days ago. We met Pocohontas while there and we were both kind of surprised with the overall experience. This isn’t to shame, make fun or bash this cast member in anyway shape or form but she looks absolutely nothing like the character. Once again, she was really sweet and lovely but just didn’t fit the part.

I've never seen a good Pocohontas at Disney park or otherwise. This woman would have made a much better Jasmin. Also makes me wonder why the native Americans are raising a fuss on this one. I doubt Disney could get away with having a white or hispanic play the part of Tiana, but this woman doesn't look like any native American I've ever seen, so I think it might be time to call this a case of cultural misappropriation.

We met a wonderful Pocahontas at Akershus in 2006.
Honestly, all of the princesses we met over a decade ago were beautiful and fit their parts quite well - looks & mannerisms.

Just for fun, we took my mom to Cindy's for dinner this September. It sounds terrible, but we were so shocked that none of them looked like the characters. They look even worse when we look at the photos.

The Jasmine, Cinderella, and Snow White That were at CRT last month were pretty great, IMO. I think Ariel and Aurora were a little off (not like this Pocahontas though). As a kid, I remember some pretty great Pocahontases. I’m in agreement that she may have been a ‘friend of Moana’ at some point.

I think she was cast as the wrong princess. Put her in a blonde wig and pink dress (and change the contact colors). I think she would have done much better as Aurora.

I’m in agreement that she may have been a ‘friend of Moana’ at some point.

And I have a funny feeling this "friend of Moana" is on Instagram, I will not be revealing who it is for sake of character integrity.
