Hello All,
I am retiring soon and my wife and I would like to get employment with Disney. I was curious as to their benefits, such as Healthcare and the cost for single and family coverage? I have read the information on Disney job site but does not give any particulars. Also how much of a discount do you get on Disney merchandise and food at Disney property restaurants? thanks

Will you be applying to the Disneyland Resort or the Walt Disney World Resort? The discounts are different for each.

Benefits depend on your work status. FT health costs range from about $10 - $60 / weekly. Part Time is substantially higher and seasonal are not eligible.

Merch discounts depend on the ranking of the CM. If you're speaking the traditional park CMs, the starting discount is 20%. Management and experienced CMs (based on years of experience) get 35%. Merch discounts also vary throughout the year (and do not apply to all items and all shops).

The general food discount is 20% - but this gets very complicated as it varies based on the specific restaurant, meal, time of day, and other factors. There are lots of internal flyers to help explain the varying discounts once you're hired.

The $10-$60 a week is that the difference between single and family coverage? Or is the price based on seniority? Thanks

Health Benefits are not linked to seniority - everyone pays the same. The price range is based on the type of coverage you want. Do you want little coverage or super coverage? I believe the prices Berlioz mentioned is only for individual coverage, family coverage is more. I've only ever used the cheapo coverage (I'm young and healthy), so I'm not positive about the higher end.
