Disney Without Kids

Well I go with my family and we are all adults and one teenager. It's still fun and loads to do. So many people go as adults.

I like when my husband and I go by ourselves. It is a different vacation without the adult kids and grandchildren. We enjoy it just as much. Our next trip with just the 2 of us is deluxe dining and eating at a lot of the more upscale restaurants where we can relax and enjoy the food. Of course, I have to go on all the attractions so I will be kid on the trip. I find it is just a more relaxing trip.

Never went to WDW with kids. I return for the fun, safe, secure, relax and comfort feeling. I'm just sad to see Disney catering to those with kids. It was so different when we honeymoon in 95 there. The reason we selected WDW for Disney was the commercials that were shown in the 90's. Here you go

You don't see that anymore

I too went to WDW for honeymoon. The only thing I can think of is that they don't make money off us like kids. That is why they are not catering to us. You use to a commercial also when the kids are gone from the house the parents go to WDW.

We used to go with our children. They are all grown with children of their own. They love to go to Disney with their families. We now enjoy going by ourselves, and sometimes are joined by the grandbabies. There is so much to do, but one of the greatest joys is looking through their eyes!

Funny thing, went to disney every several years as one of 3 kids growing up (with the parents as a family). After a 15 year hiatus, I'm now 33, the fiancée and I planned a trip back in October as our first vacation together. We loved it so much we just booked a 5 day getaway for March.

I will never outgrow disney, give me a quick ride on space mountain anyday! These parks were designed for all to enjoy. We laugh when we see the elderly couples going solo together walking around the world showcase and joke that will be us much later in life.

We should start doing adult only meet and greets while at disney!

We started going at 26 years old and are now 63. We still love it with our adult kids and grandchildren or just the husband and I. We went in Dec. with family, going in March with oldest grandchild, and talking about our next trip will be just the 2 of us. We also want another trip to DLR. We are just old kids. Watch out my husband now has to be a scooter person (it can happen to any of us).

Alright, I saw that there is a board dedicated to Disney with kids, but what about without? It seems to me that the majority is with kids anyway. I ask advice all the time and just about every answer I get from people are tips for the kiddos and adults as secondary.

Yes I know this has nothing to do with parks but I wasn't sure where to post this.

I don't know of any boards entirely dedicated to those of us who go without kids, but I think if you post your advice threads including something along the lines of 'no kids help please' or words to that effect and you will get the advice you are looking for.

And I think that with some obvious exceptions, any advice given for families with kids can be taken for those without kids as well.

Count me as another person who has never been to Disney with kids except when I was a kid myself.

That said, my hat is OFF to all you awesome parents who do something I could never do and bring your kids down there (I don't have any. That's why I can't bring them.) I don't know how you do it stress-wise. I would be so scared my kid would get stomped on or I would blink or something and the kid would be gone. And I definitely don't know how you do it money-wise. It seems totally impossible to me. So, like I said, hats off to you, parents. You rock.

I go every trip adults only. Sometimes it is just me and I have a blast. I am totally Peter Pan when it comes to Disney.

Been several times with no kids. Let me tell you, nothing in the universe like walking hand in hand with your 5 year old around the parks! I will never go without them again. My DW and I had fun when we went pre-kids, and it helps us now know when and what to avoid at certain times! We consider our pre-kids trips training seminars.
