Disney Without Kids

Alright, I saw that there is a board dedicated to Disney with kids, but what about without? It seems to me that the majority is with kids anyway. I ask advice all the time and just about every answer I get from people are tips for the kiddos and adults as secondary.

Yes I know this has nothing to do with parks but I wasn't sure where to post this.

The only time I have ever been to WDW with kids was when I was one. ;)

Majority of my trips were pre- kids. My DH and I went several times as a couple and with other couples we were friends with. For us it was tons of fun. We would be out open to close and hitting the bars are DTD, eating in all the Signatures and twice we even made it to V&A. Only two adults also means only to people to think about when it comes to attractions. So less pre planning was involved.

I haven't been with kids since my last family trip, almost 7 years ago. The DBF has agreed with me that when we decide to have our own children that they will not join us in the world until they can 1.) remember it, 2.) know how to behave, and 3.) be tall enough for some of the biggir rides.

My DH and I said that too until we had kids are realized how long it would be before we could go back. Although 40 inches isn't that bad most 3 yos get there.

Okay let's talk about this from young grandparents. My grandson is 6.5 years old and daughter is born in 76. The DWF is 54 and I am 51. We go a lot to WDW as adults and have a blast. WDW is not just for kids and is really for adults as well. We are young at heart for the most part and we always act like kids when we are in WDW. Yes the parks, water parks, resort things to do, Dinning, shopping and WDW night life finished with midnight swims in the quiet pools at PORs. We are just as excited as anyone else when we drive through the main entrance of Welcome to WDW. Then add in a beer or two and a little wine and we are truly in the happiest place on earth. WDW is really great for adults and there is so much to do if you take advantage of all there is to do. Renting Boats, Fishing Trips, Golf, horseback riding, Bikes, tours, in the fall food and wine festival, a few dinner shows, and cirque in DTD with shopping and so on. We also get pictures with all the Characters and this just makes us both laugh and smile. We go on all the rides and see all the exhibits and see all the shows in the park and then resort hop to see what the other resorts are like and see if we want to stay there on future trips. Then think about that we get a plan that allows us to do and see everything and eat anywhere. So when we are in WDW, we are pampered and relaxed. Add in the water parks and we are just in pure bliss. We are going again 2014 for 10 days and 10 nights and can't wait to get back. We just love WDW and feel safe and secure and extremely relaxed there. WDW is just for kids, I think not

Never went to WDW with kids. I return for the fun, safe, secure, relax and comfort feeling. I'm just sad to see Disney catering to those with kids. It was so different when we honeymoon in 95 there. The reason we selected WDW for Disney was the commercials that were shown in the 90's. Here you go

You don't see that anymore

DH and I took our first adults only trip in awhile last September for our anniversary...it was awesome!! Tons of park time (parties of two seem to fly through lines), had several wonderful meals (Cali Grill was amazing, Spirit of Aloha show was a ton of fun) and thoroughly enjoyed stopping in a few adult spots here and there (countries in world showcase, tune-in lounge in Hollywood studious, dawa bar in AK, raglan road). Also we were able to partake in the keys to the kingdom tour which I highly recommend. We also did the Segway tour in Epcot back in the day. If you have ever considered a tour - do it! Great fun, and interesting facts.
We still would like to check out jelly rolls at some point, some more tours, and maybe some more spa/golf action!

My last 3 trips were without kids....just me and my husband. Now....granted my kids are grown and married but I am in my late 50's and husband early 60's. We have a ball....... We stay in the park, sleep in, relax by the pool, eat at signature restaurants and just have a very relaxed stay. When we go to the parks, we usually get there at about 11-ish and if there is a long line at a ride we want, we just move on to the next one. Our next trip is in November and we will share the park with our new granddaughter who will be 20 months by then. We will not be staying onsite :( but the good news is we will be sharing my daughter and son in laws 3 bedroom suite timeshare. I think I can handle that. :cat:

I'm 26 and my fiancé is 24 and we've been 5 times by ourselves since 2010 and enjoy it. We like most of the same things so it doesn't take vary long at all to plan a trip and once we're there we both like to freestyle it pretty much. We always enjoy some adult beverages and we definitely make use of the bus system so we don't have to worry about drinking and driving. On late nights from DTD or the boardwalk a taxi ride is usually quick and cheap too.

Not too many huge resorts that I know of anyway in the US that has that much variety all in one area. I'm sure a place like Sandels comes close but that's definitely not as cheap as wdw considering we drive to wdw and don't fly.

Our next trip will be with my fiances parents and her sister's whole family (hubby + 5 kids) so we'll see how this trip goes lol.

After reading the replies to your post, it is evident to me that WDW provides fun entertainment for everyone—not just kids.

I've only travelled there with adults, or gone solo; and I think you'll be surprised at how many people do not visit with children. Regardless of travelling companions, whether young or old, each vacation experience is unique and memorable. ALL are welcome! :)

The only time I've been to Disney with kids was when I was a kid myself, and my parents took my brothers and me. I was 12 and we had a blast. That said, I've been back twice since then as an adult and I absolutely love it -- more now than when I was younger. It has become an annual trip for just my mom and me. The food, shopping, and relaxing at the resorts are all so nice, and the parades and fireworks at the parks are just perfect for adults. Disney really does bring out your inner kid, no matter how old you are. I'm going to keep going every year (usually between mid-Feb and mid-April) as long as I can afford it!

We're going this year on March 27, staying at POR for 8 days. It just so happens that my aunt and uncle are going for the same period with their 10 and 8 year olds and staying at CB. I'm really looking forward to being with my cousins when they first enter MK, and when they're watching the parades and fireworks. It's going to be a great trip.

All of my most recent Disney trips to both WDW and DL have been without kids. Come to think of it the last time I was at WDW with kids, I actually WAS a kid!

My point in this thread was that this topic was deserving to have a section so that all of us kid-less folk can discuss. I am fully aware there are things to do for adults at DWD--which is why we are going....o_O
