Disney with an infant help?

Hi all!
I wanted some advice on how others have handled this situation before. I will be going to Disney for a bachelorette party when my LO is 2 months old (I'm the matron of honor, and it's only three nights/one park day. We will also be staying in a vacation rental offsite, so I will have my own room) and I do have to bring my LO as I will be nursing him. It will be either in late September or October. I will also be going in early November for Food and Wine with my mom but that will be for three park days and 4 nights. I know they have the baby care centers in each of the parks, but I was wondering if anyone had tips on things to help with the trip :)

I never used the baby care centers. Didn't need to. He will sleep in the stroller and can do every ride that doesn't' have a height restriction. My daughter's first trip was when she was 6 months old and I brought a baby carrier (like an Ergo) but I barely used it. It was too hot and holding her that close to me made us both even hotter. I would definitely say bring his regular stroller and don't forget a rain guard for it. (It totally comes in handy in bad weather). Also, DON'T overpack. I brought EVERYTHING with us when she was 6 months old and I didn't have to! Barely used any of the stuff I brought. I can't think of anything else right now... You will have an amazing time and so will your lo.

It's obviously a matter of personal preference, but my wife practiced nursing our daughter in public prior to our first Disney trip at six months so she was comfortable doing it in the parks and didn't have to rely on the baby care centers. They're fine, but they're often in inconvenient locations and it's easier to find a semi-private spot to nurse wherever you happen to be than spend your whole day trekking to and from the baby centers. Also, it doesn't sound like it'll make a difference with your group, but the baby care centers are not very dad friendly.

Thank you both very much! I'm very excited about taking my LO to the World for the first time, and as I have no younger siblings (or older ones) I've never had to take a LO to the parks! I'll definitely practice before we go so it's not uncomfortable, and bring the stroller (with a rain gaurd!). It's also good to know that the centers aren't very daddy friendly, my husband is becoming more of a Disney fan, so I'm sure we will be taking a trip together sometime in the winter.

I took our-then 4 week-old son for a 10 day trip. What I found helpful, besides the above advice for nursing, was finding dark attractions to feed the baby in. My favorite was Ellen's Energy Adventure: dark, a/c, good place for both of us to nap (j/k)! Baby went on everything that didn't have height restriction and then we baby-swapped when there was one. Unless, I needed the break, we stayed in the parks all day and didn't head back to the hotel--baby did fine in his stroller :) One of the easier trips we've done, to be honest.

I too am traveling to the world soon with an infant and was looking for similar info. We will be there for the StarWars Half DS with our 4mo girl. Looking forward to bringing her to my favorite place but nervous about how to care for her in the parks.

We used the BCC last year for non breast feeding and changing when our girls were 10 months old. Last week we just used it for changing them as it was fairly close to where we were at the time. As I recall, there weren't any men's rooms in there but there was a ladies' room. Also, when we were waiting for the monorail at the Poly, a woman was standing there breast feeding her baby out in the open. No biggie.

I wish I could've been that "open" when feeding my son :) Would've killed my back to stand there as well!
I had a nursing cover-up that was designed to to cover us but had a wire at the top so I could look down at him--kept us both cool instead of using a blanket. We made use of the Baby Centers when we were by them. They had a nice glider/rocking chair in a private room. They also had toddler-sized toilets which were nice for our 2 year-old who was in the middle of potty-training (but that's a whole other thread ) At sit-down restaurants, they brought infant seats over that I could put the baby in while eating (since they make you park the stroller outside). Everyone is very helpful when you have an infant, it seems :)

When my kids were young enough for the baby carrier we brought it and found that they mostly wanted to be in there rather than the stroller (we had a Baby Bjorn). My youngest was 6 months though the first time we brought him, so at 2 months your LO might prefer the stroller. Make sure you bring a light blanket to cover the stroller when LO is sleeping, that way he'll be out of the sun. A lot of people feel as though bringing a baby to the World is intimidating, but I personally found it to be a breeze!

I was wondering about this topic myself. While I don't love breastfeeding in public, I've had my fair share of practice already so I should be set. Do all of the bathrooms have changing stations in them?

yes but there can be a line waiting in ladies rooms so if daddy is along you might send LO with as usually not as much of a wait and there is a changing station there also
