Umm, the rotational dining (Elsa, Avengers and 1923) are not going to serve escargot or filet mignon. They are the normal everyday restaurants.

If you want fancy, go to the adults only restaurants. Or, go to NYC...

I understand the point that you're trying to make, but the rotational restaurants actually have served escargot. My wife gets them a lot. They're tiny, but they do sometimes offer them.

Not sometimes, all the time. I have gotten escargot on every cruise I have taken on DCL at the rotational dining on the Dream and Fantasy.
The point is, we get it, it’s Disney, but they are offering very very little for the adults on board.

The rotational dining in the dream and fantasy serve steak and escargot. Bottom line, Disney makes great ships but their cruise game is lacking

All four of the existing ships offer filet minion and escargot on the standard rotational dining menus.

I see escargot and a chateaubriand filet (cheaper than filet mignon) at Royal Court, which is the more upscale restaurant. That doesn’t fit Elsa, or Avengers (...maybe 1923). These are family restaurants and if you want a more NYC style night, go Adults only.

Most rotational dinners are more casual. Animators Palate, Parrot Cay, Tiana, even Enchanted Garden.

Royal Palace on the dream is rotational dining and serves escargot and steak, and i would hardly consider it upscale. It is certainly no more upscale than the other rotational dining options. so im not sure where you are going with your points. In fact, every rotational dining serves some sort of steak. Not sure why we are caught up in dining or an adult should have to go "Adults Only" to have a good experience. My point, along with others, is that disney is failing at fulfilling the needs of a lot of adult cruisers. Their ships are amazing, but they have added nothing truly new to them, while other cruise lines are excelling. Disney is honestly overpriced for the product they give out in the cruising world.

Steak isn’t really special, until it’s $50+ per person. So don’t get too excited over catered food.

I’ve also never needed to go to Palo, etc as the rotational meals are very good. I’ve never been disappointed in a meal on DCL.

But don’t get bent out of shape over a family cruise ship’s everyday meals not being Michelin star. I highly doubt the food on comparable ships is unbelievably better.

As you can guess, a lot of people will disagree with that point.
Not sure how they can unless they are they’re being stubborn or have never gone on another cruise line. I truly love Disney cruises, but they are over priced and I’d never take one longer than 3-4 nights because there’s not enough to do on board. Whereas other lines encourage longer itineraries because of all the offerings.

I never once complained about the food. Ever. What I think Disney does better than most is food and service.
Don’t put words in my mouth and think you’re the all mighty cruiser just because of the name you gave yourself. The fact is, family cruise or not, there’s not activities for the whole family on Disney cruises. It’s 90% kid oriented, which is crazy when you think how much other lines offer for both kids AND adults.
What exactly would you like them to add? A casino?

Pools, bars, classes, and nightlife, are all available for 21+. I agree 18-20 is lacking.

I’ve never said I go on other lines. I’ve always said I was biased towards DCL.

What is the wait time for the flow rider? I’d imagine it is very popular.

DCL does have a lot of nightlife. Bars, comedians, games, etc. Frankly, they are pretty empty most nights, despite what the brochure video shows.
Flow rider wait at max is about 30 minutes, the bigger boats have 2 of them onboard. Average wait is about 15-20, not bad at all. I’ve done it plenty, but the real skilled guys are in their 50s shockingly.
not to mention they also offer some pretty great slides. Sadly Disney still only offers the one option.
I’ve done the night life on DCL but Royal offers nightlife that’s more than a club. Game shows and what not. I urge you to look up “the quest” game on Royal and watch a video. It’s a fun time. To each their own, but I’m not a partier but I like variety and I just think Disney is lacking.

Well, I've sailed Princess, NCL, Royal, Home Lines (tells you how old I am), Holland America, and DCL. My wife and I chose DCL for our anniversary without the kids over all those others. I've seen the Flow Rider, I've seen the rock walls, I've seen Rock of Ages, I've actually done the indoor skydiving, I've been in the disco till 2:30am. I don't want any of those things.

I want a bigger stateroom with the best personal service I can get. I want a split bathroom with a shower that I can move in. I want a spot or 2 for adults only where I'm not fighting with 1000 other people, even without paying for it. I honestly don't think I'm being stubborn. DCL consistently provides me a more enjoyable experience than those other lines. I'm the exact person that DCL markets to. That doesn't make me stubborn or ignorant. It's exactly what I like. I think you're disparaging a whole lot of people just because you like something else.

1, Im no dispraging anyone. Im voicing an opinion. 2. Theres more people that prefer other lines to Disney than prefer Disney to other lines.
Next up, you are paying a lot more for a Disney cruise than other lines. Example, a 4-night cruise on the Dream for 2 people with Oceanview Balcony is roughly $2500, you can get the same stateroom on Symphony of the Seas on Royal Caribbean for that price or a little less, but for 7-Nights. So this thought that you aren't paying for better service is absurd. And I agree, DCL has the best service out of everyone. But to say there aren't areas of quiet on the larger ships from other lines is crazy. The solarium areas are wonderful. Disney areas are far too small. Maybe you like that, but like I said, I prefer options while on board. As far as a room goes, you can get a suite on Royal for the price of a 7-night room on Disney. Are Disney rooms bigger? Yes. Is that nice, Yes. And while I often times splurge on rooms while on vacations at WDW, I rarely spend much time in them other than resting and relaxing in bed. Maybe that's just me. But I want a boat to explore and enjoy for 7 days, and unfortunately, Disney boats bore me after 3-4 days.

I dont know what DCL ship youbhave been on, but every variety act (comedians/magicians/singers) I've seen has been a full show.... sometimes out the door - particularly on the Magic. I've seen it with my own eyes.... usually after I've eaten escargot in Lunieres, Tritons or Royal Court. ;)

That's said.... the fillet and probably other quality cuts will probably become an upcharge at some point. I imagine things will got the way of Palo where you can order off a menu but for an upgrade of $20 you can have lobster or chateaubriand. This is Disney in the 2020s.

Disney could benefit from some extra activities. I was hoping for a VR experience similar to the Void. Or a rock climbing wall.... whilst they may not be on everyone's must do, they are on others.... which means more people spread out.

I also would have liked to have seen a Marvel or Star Wars restaurant separate to rotational dining - like an upcharge experience such as Palo but for families. Not that I have kids, but it would have been something fun and alternative and I'm sure lots of people would be willing to splurge.... if it means I have less IP and characters rammed down my throat at dinner - great. I like animators - its always been good for food and the show is nice.... as for the princess restaurants, I feel the food suffers massively for a show that is essentially character dining.

Disneys target market isn't JUST families with kids.... just saying ;)

I agree. They needed to add more. All they did was make a Disney Fantasy 2.0. Nothing amazing or next level. Just an upgraded Fantasy, maybe not even updated, just a newer one….

I should have said the nightclubs (not a performance) are usually empty. We go often, make friends with our table mates, and it’s unfortunately dead. Everyone is sunburned and tired from their exciting day at sea/excursions to go dancing/bar-hopping.

I’ve been on Magic, Wonder and Fantasy.

Interesting, I have been to many nightclub shows on the Dream, magician acts and comedy mostly….tables were always full in the club with the entertainment. Pub 687 and Evolution always seemed to be going strong….

With all the princess type themes I thought they could have added an actual ride. (instead of a water coaster and calling it a ride...agree with others that it closes in the top deck.)

Wonder how much space a ride like Alice in wonderland at DL would need? A classic dark ride on a cruise ship? That would surely be out of the box. Or perhaps a classic spin ride like Aladdins flying carpets.

Overall I can see this being only a 3/4 day ship. A great add on for the wdw visitor looking to extend the fantasyland style park experience. We prefer nautical Mickey and beachside Goofy, but there are 4 ships of that!

They really needed to make a much larger ship to start with
