I was most nervous running on the Boardwalk. I have a fear of falling since I fell and broke my elbow during a half in 2013.
I really enjoyed the run. Pulled over for as many pictures as I could get :)
My calves were cramping terrible starting at mile 11, not sure why.
Finished a bit under 2:10, WAY off from my bib number.
Sorry I didn't meet up. I think I was a bit overwhelmed being alone and headed to my corrale when they began announcing.
Didn't last long at the after party. I was absolutely freezing. The boys were upset TT was down.
I'd love to do another Disney Run! Was so excited to get the Minnie New Balances at the expo, but unfortunately I didn't get the little black bows that were to come with them :(
Congrats to everyone!

Congrats to all!!

I couldn't find any Magicers to meet up with. Every group I asked was a different, inferior, message board. I wanted to meet--know that I tried finding you all....I just never connected!

The one at the Yacht Club? If so then yes, I don't like it too! All the 90 degree angles from the way it was constructed and the planters makes me feel like I'm a rat running in a maze.

I forgot about the after party. I rode Soarin just because it was warm and dry inside The Land, and then rode Spaceship Earth on my way out of the park. I really wanted to experience more of the afterparty, but I was shivering so bad after cooling down from my run I had to get out of there.

Yes, right by YC!!!! Felt like the wood was slippery. I didn't have too much trouble making it up to HS. After I stopped for a pic with the Green Army Man he chased me up the hill and yelled at me to run faster to make up my lost time...lol!!! So fun!

You all said it right. The conditions were miserable but we finished with a solid time and got some pictures. We'll do it again next year so we see what can experience the WnD you all have had in the past. I think we saw our gal wwith the lighted tutu while in line for a picture with Chip and Dale.

The Boardwalk was an interesting surface as I neared mile 12 during the 2013 Wine and Dine. After running on asphalt and concrete and other similar surfaces the Boardwalk boards did not feel good on my feet or my calves. I started to cramp up around mile 9 and it continued through Mile 12. I would have much preferred to run on the grass next to the Boardwalk. Found out I was lacking potassium so I made sure to eat a few extra bananas and drank some pickle juice. That helped my calves a little.

Having a lagoon view/race view at Yacht Club, when I walked back to my room at 3am after the party, the amount of oil on the planks was huge! I figured it was from everyone running on the roads and then tracking it on to the wooden surface. It was glistening and extra slippery, but not something I noticed while running.

Well, we ended up with a 3:06 according to the Garmin. Brandi is normally around 2:40 but she was having trouble with wet feet. I wasn't even breathing hard at that pace so that made me feel better about Dopey. I feel like I might have been able to PR this one but I always think that when I run slower with her. :)

Yes, there were very few characters out. But the Osborne Lights were beautiful. We took a long walk break for that. Towards the end we were cheering for the volunteers and spectators. We were running and they were just standing in that muck.

I was feeling good but as soon as we stopped the body temperature started to drop and I was shivering bad. We skipped the party and made the three-mile trek to the buses. We got right on the bus and I felt bad for the group that didn't make it. But there were a bunch of busses lined up so hopefully they didn't have to wait long. Got back to the room for the best hot shower EVER!

Went to Epcot for some F&W on Sunday and talked to a bunch of runners, including some with broken medals. And a lot of people who want to run a Disney race.

Fun seeing everyone before the race and hanging out in the corral. Made the time go by faster. Hope I get to see you all in January!

Best of luck in the Space Coast run at Cocoa Village. I ran it in 2013 with Team RWB and plan on running it 2 more times in 2015 and 2017 to get the special big bang series 3-run medal.

Thanks, and good luck to you in your quest for the Big Bang Series! A coworker of mine is going for the 5-run challenge and raved about the race last year, so I thought it would be fun to try. I'm excited for all the space-themed fun!

I'm really enjoying reading everyone's W&D experiences! It sounds like everyone had a good time, despite some weather-related setbacks. It was definitely a race to remember!

Awesome event, like always. The volunteers and fellow runners make for an unforgettable night! Loved it all. And despite rain was only a couple seconds away from my PB--1hr 44 seconds and change!

And it's always exciting when you beat your bib place.

Congratulations to all the runners involved!

Is the number of walkers normal for the race or did the weather play that big of an impact
I just checked our official runDisney time: 3:04:04. We might be in the finish line picture together! :)
ha!! too funny! We probably are.

side note: I was a little fustrated with the traffic flow...when you are moving slower are you not encouraged to be more on the right side? I thought that would have just been standard procedure. I got kinda fustrated in some points. I felt like I was weaving a lot.

I thought the number of walkers was about normal. They do talk about courtesy (such as staying to the right) in the guide and on the stage before the race.

We got home late last night from our Wine and Dine Race Trip! I just looked up our official results which were right on track with my watch. Our finish time was 2:55:18 which was a lot slower than our usual half times. We had hoped the rain would hold out until the end. As we waited, the weather was nice but soon after moving to the corrals, the rain started and lasted for the entire race. I felt pretty good for the first half but it seemed like my muscles just wouldn't move as freely as usual. It was pretty brutal for me and I also had some slipping issues on the overpass ramps. We stopped for pictures with Flik and Boba Fett but I used my phone and the pictures aren't great because my lens fogged up. I usually carry my camera but with the threat of rain, I left it in the hotel room. I am glad I did because it would have been soaked otherwise! We skipped the after party since all we wanted to do was get a hot shower and some dry clothes. Before we got on the bus we changed into a dry shirt. I was bummed to miss the party, but it was just miserable.
@fmingo36 and me before the start! We were dry and this time.

We took a few pictures at Osborne Lights but they are on Dan's phone. That was probably the highlight of the race. I really would like to do this race in better conditions. I loved the course. It was great running through 3 parks. I hope I can have a redo one of these upcoming years! It was great meeting everyone at the pre-race meet up! I am wondering how @leaf44 made out. We were hanging with her in Corral G till the start and didn't see her after we started.

Prior to doing the half, we did the 5k in the morning. The 5k was fun but I probably wouldn't do it again. It was tough getting up a 4 to get to the bus by 5 and wait around at the start till 7. There were a ton of walkers that weren't even doing a quick walk, more like a leisurely stroll. I am glad I did it once. I did get to see @Ariel484, @Tiggerish and Courtney (not sure of her user name!). Love our portapot backround!

Hellooooo everyone! First of all congratulations to you all :D
I finished in 3:01:14 with clock time of 3:24:21. I've yet to go through my mountain of photos from our trip but will post some tonight!

@HRHPrincessAriel From reading other posts it’s clear that a lot was missing due to the weather which is a shame but I guess that’s a reason for us to come and run again!
I also heard that there is normally loads more spectators too which would have been nice!

@FerretAfros congrats on getting your goal time & I totally agree with you and @Mad Stitch about the overpass it was super slippy! We slowed right down for that!

@Mad Stitch gutted I missed you guys!

@Disneymom201 TT must have come back up later on because we rode it about 3.30AM and they let us re-ride too, it was incredibly difficult to get up out of the seat after we sat down though! We felt a bit overwhelmed too when we arrived there was just so many people! Loved the army man too he was awesome!

@Texas84 totally agree about the lights, they were amazing and we stopped for a couple of pics, I even got a video of us approaching them too!

@Kristia, great photos! Well done on doing both races too that’s good going!

Sorry I didn't stop into this thread sooner! I've been super depressed about running lately and was sort of ignoring the whole race. I've basically been sick since the start of my vacation, and haven't felt we'll enough to run since the 1/2 marathon. It's been making me kind of panicky because I don't want to lose all my hard work.

I'm finally starting to feel better though, and I am starting to have a better attitude about the whole thing. I'm still frustrated that I got sick, and that it rained, but I am proud that I ran anyway. I didn't finish anywhere near my goal time, and was kind of miserable most of the time (I had a coughing fit after every water stop), but I ran the whole way and finished so I'm taking that as a win.

Like a lot of people I didn't stay for any of the after party, except for a quick trip into Starbucks. The only thing I wanted the whole second half of the race was a hot cup of tea!

I am definitely going to try to do the race again next year, because I would like to get the full experience!

One thing that was awesome though was meeting everyone! @Kristia, you guys were a huge help to me, because if I wasn't able to talk to you while waiting for the start I know I would have freaked myself out with nerves! So, thank you!

@leaf44 Glad to hear back from you! We didn't finish nearly as well as we expected but with Disney races, I rarely make a goal except to finish! Happy we could help calm your nerves. It was a pretty miserable race though. I was so cold and just wanted to finish and get a hot shower. We will definitely be trying this one again. Probably not next year but soon hopefully!
