Someone posted a thread about this on another forum:

I asked a question about whether there was a way to use the watch while running without getting caught up wires going from your ears to your wrist, but the readers on that forum are not generally runners so I'm re-posting it here. Has anyone tried using this Nano watch band while running? I love the look of the faces but really have no use for it if I can't run with it because that the only time I use my nano.

Yeah, he just didn't seem to get your question. I have tried running with earbuds at times - rare times. With an iPod either in my pocket or on my upper arm.

I would think that if you had a clip on your earbuds that you could clip to your shirt, then you should be OK. It is not like you are flailing about as you run (or are you :) ). Your arms should not be moving like crazy. Just leave enough slack.

I have the old style nano for running.

However, I know they make clips for the newer ones that you can just clip them onto your waist/shirt/etc. Maybe their easily exchanged out.

LOL, nope, no flailing here (except perhaps at the end of a particularly hard speed workout!). But I tend to agree that the clip would probably be better than the watch. Right now I have an older nano as well that I wear on a lanyard around my neck, but I have to tuck it into the waist band of my shorts or it bobs around annoyingly while I run.

Unless you are running wearing a long sleeve shirt, I would try to avoid having the cord flopping around all over the place. Personally it would annoy me, but I just can't see it working out well. Getting something caught in the cord and ripping an earbud out would suck. When I did run with music a few years ago I usually stuffed my shuffle under my hat so the cable was completely covered.

I think the earbud cord coming from my wrist to my ears would make me insane. I have an older shuffle that clips on. I clip it on my right side then run my earbud cord under my clothes in back. All the wires stay against my back. I do not want anything touching my face. That would make me nuts. I love the concept of the new Nano as a watch but I don't think I could run with that.
