Disney vs. Universal

I went to US in 2004 when I was in Orlando for choir.
My biggest thrill was seeing the outside of Nick Studios and the big spinning globe in person after watching it on the end credits of some of my favorite shows growing up! The geiser too. But it's all gone now!

I'll always be a Disney girl, but once Harry Potter moves in to Universal Studios I'm gonna have to make a trip!! Maybe I'll forgive them long enough to see it.

(But I'll probably still end up staying on disney property!)

Don't blame Universal because Nickelodean moved all of their productions to the West Coast and refused to continue the licensing.

Universal is ok, good rides.

When you enter Disney, and you want to fit in, make sure you get some Mickey ears.

When you enter Universal, make sure you get a rub-on "tramp stamp" tatoo (middle of lower back for girls, back of leg for guys), pierce something on your body, get a cigarette (even if it's fake) for your left hand, and a tall cool Budweiser for your right, and you're all set. Oh, and use profanity in front of children. If you don't know how, ask one of their cast members. :drevil:

Disney is just a LOT nicer.

Okay... what is the only one of these things that you won't see at Disney?

A Budweiser.

^ You get more low lifes at Universal because it cheaper admission. Its common sense. :hammer:
They're the same price.

Uh, Disney isn't much better. I've seen equal amounts of white trash and other "interesting" guests at Disney as well.

Right, because no one walks around EPCOT or DHS with a beer or other drinks. I've yet to see drunk people throwing up in garbage cans at Universal, but have seen it on 3 Saturday night visits to EPCOT.

Universal always runs very generous ticket offers and their AP is much, much lower so it's not fair to only compare single day, single park at the ticket window prices and call them the same.

The difference in clientèle is way overblown, except for events like HHN where things really are completely different and Universal warns families of that. On a normal day though, most guests are exactly the same. In fact I'd almost say Disney's has become worse thanks to all the youth groups, cheerleaders, football teams, etc. they bring in year round.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic (the internet isn't very good with that), but on several occasions I've seen many less-than-sober people watching IllumiNations and screaming, "Yeah! Woohoo! Gob Blesh Americapa! Wahoo!" and then stumble out the exit. :hammer:

Yeah, I was being sarcastic. Trust me, I've had plenty of encounters with people who have drank too much.

Have you ever been to Universal? It actually sounds like you're describing Busch Gardens to me.

I was being a little sarcastic. We like Universal, it's just that we always have to use the "This is NOT Disney" mantra whenever we've been "Universalized". Been to Universal just about every year since 1989, and we can't count how many times we've been to Disney (we're annual passholders). We've seen dozens of odd things at all the parks, but Universal seems to be the most.... memorable.

Time to get the sarcasm meter fixed, he was laying it on pretty thick :ROFLOL:
