Disney Visa Question

My wife and I just got the Disney Visa, but something in the Reward Dollars guide is bothering me... it says something about the program not being available to authorized users. Only the primary cardholder is entitled to participate. So does that mean one of us is an authorized user, and that one of the cards won't accrue points? My wife applied for the card and put me in the "send a second card to" part. Any ideas? Thanks!

Both cards accure points, its roughly 1 dollar for every 100 spent.

The rewards of having this card is not in the raising of money to spend on rewards its the extras Chase meembers get for having the card.

The only thing I do not like is that the rewardss card is on its own seperate card and you can only move $ at increments over $10.

There have been many threads about The Disney Visa and doing a quick search will bring them up, they may answer all of your questions for you.

I have not been happy with they way Chase has been handling things so we have decided to not use ours anymore (I dislike Chase in general). I have a card (in my name) on my DH's account and both cards accrue points and we can both authorize the transfer/use of the Reward Dollars. My advice would be to go to their site and register your account...you can keep track of your points, transfer Reward Dollars (once you have a valid Rewards card) and see all the offers available. You can also opt into the email notification program...they will let you know when your payment is due in10 days and also when your payments gets posted. Good luck.

Thanks for the help! I did search, but couldn't find anything that said one way or the other whether all cards accrued points. I was starting to go cross-eyed reading it all. Anyway, thanks again! I appreciate the help!

You can move it in more than $10 increments, just not less. They will let you move odd amounts, like $87 (in otherwords, not just multiples of 10.)

You do have to put 20 on the card when you first get it.

To answer the Authorized question:

Either of you can accrue points on your cards....they will all be on your statement.

For redeeming them, only the named authorize user can. So, if the card is originally in your wife's name, only she is supposed to be able to use the rewards card you get for payment, getting Disney Dollars etc. I believe she is also the only one who can get them transferred to a rewards card.

BTW, when you get Disney Dollars, you can only get $50 at a time since they consider this a "cash advance". It is better to use the rewards card like a debit card and have them swipe it at restaurants, your resort, stores etc.

My DH was able to use the rewards card on 2 occasions without me to get Disney Dollars, but another time he was turned away. This was April '05. This year we just used it like a debit card. That money sure went fast!

The card stinks as a credit card, but it's pretty. I just keep it to use as an emergency back-up in case my regular credit card doesn't work for a transaction.

Referring to the highlighted section...as long as you have a card in your name you can transfer the balance. The account is in my DH's name, I have a card (on his account) with my name on it...I called to order the Rewards Card and had no problems whatsoever getting one...they did not ask to speak to him. Also, anyone can use the card; I gave it to my kids to go aff and get food and to buy goodies...no problems in any of the stores in WDW they used it in.

You can get more than $50 at a time, I got 434 with no problem. I love the rewards, I don't particularly like Chase either though.

I was going to say you can get more than $50 too, but then I re read the post...I think the OP meant $50 worth of Disney Dollars, not transferring the rewards dollars.

Unless I'm reading it wrong. *shrugs*

Oops, yep, that's what I meant. If you want to get "cash", you can only get $50 in Disney Dollars at a time....at least the last time we did it. You can use all of your reward dollars at once for a purchase, at a restaurant, store etc.

The first time we used our rewards, 2 yrs ago, I used all of the rewards dollars to buy our park tickets.

Maybe we had CM who didn't know the rules but it always seems they are only letting me use the card except for the 2 times noted above. And I was standing in the lobby and my DH had to point to me. The other time they made me come up. But since we are usually together most of the time, it doesn't really matter.....
