Disney video shows mildew on Kali River Rapids

You're right. The fact that there's mold or mildew on something in Florida is a non-story.

The real story is that Disney maintenance obviously hasn't bothered to clean it in quite some time. Then, when another branch of the company arranges a promotional video shoot for a clip that will be posted on Facebook and visible to millions, that maintenance issue is magnified (it's literally front and center of that 360-degree video).

Disney should be keeping those rafts clean for their paying guests.

But they can't even keep them clean for a promotional video that ultimately is supposed to make people want to visit.

An annual refurbishment where it's taken down for a full month every January not good enough for you?

Whether or not what's in the video is mildew, I have personally touched these very handrails and they were slimy and black and covered with mildew. The rafts get disgusting, one of many reasons it closes every year.

Do you not realize how time consuming that would be if they wiped the rafts down after EVERY ride?

Do I what? o_O:p

I'm inclined to say no. And those Splash handles do have a bad odor at times. But hey, at least it's not the mildew/mold/fungi/toxic poison you touch on Kali River Rapids;)
Maybe... If it smells... They should clean it regardless of where it is? Like, really? "Because it happens elsewhere" is your excuse as to why it's okay?

I'm the kind of person that won't even dare touch the handrails in any lines. Not even on Space Mountain where there are handrails galore. (I'm guessing what i just said made no sense considering there's handrails in all the attractions). But seriously, gross. Mildew in the freaking ride vehicle? Where do my annual pass holder dollars go? Certainly not to the lazy Cast Members because you know....they're lazy.
Your annual pass dollars don't even pay for a single trash can...
