Hmm, so you replied to a 4 month old post. Interesting. Anyway, why not research the restaurants that you wish or have ADRs for, and then go to one of several websites that have the menu and prices - like this site or say the WDW website - decide within a range of what you might want to eat there, and budget from there?? Put all of that onto a Disney gift card, and use it exclusively for dining. Then you won't be wasting your money on a dining plan where the chips are stacked against you coming out ahead unless you order steak or lobster every single night. If you don't order the apps or dessert, you are definitely losing money by buying the dining plan. Up to you how you wish to throw away your money at Disney, but we decide not to throw any of it away.
We do the steak and lobster every night when at WDW and frequently the aps and deserts

And that's really how you want to eat while on vacation????
Dining is part of the vacation experience. WDW provides a wide variety of cuisines to experience not only at the resorts but throughout the various parks. If you plan out your upcoming vacation (from the 11 month window) you should have no problem dining during out the period you are there at WDW. Just because you are presented a large portion does not indicate that you have to consume all of it.

I guess you haven't really read many of my posts. I have been going to WDW since 1978 when I moved to Orlando as an adult. I have been to MK into the hundreds of times over the years. I was at EPCOT for the opening. We have been DVC members for over a decade, and we go to WDW at least 2-3 times every year. We have 4 trips already planned for this year and next, and may even add another one.

We always purchase APs, and then the TiW card to save us 20% on our dining and adult beverages. We never do the dining plan for 2 reasons - 1. we would be throwing money away because you don't really save money on the plan, and 2. it doesn't fit with our style of eating. We do many TS restaurants during our stay, but many times we will only get a few appetizers to split, and a few adult beverages. We will do full meals also, and sometimes split the entrees, but love other things besides steak. Have you tried the Butter Chicken at Sanaa?? We love it, and even cook it at home now. You don't always have to order steak to get a great meal. But you do pretty much have to order the most expensive item on the menu to make the dining plan look like you are saving money, when if you just ordered different items, you would actually spend less money over-all. I completely understand the convenience of pre-paying for the plan, and then not having to worry about it, but please don't try to tell anyone that you saved hundreds of dollars by buying the plan.

Never said I saved money. I just plan on not being concerned about it when I get there. The only thing I have to compute is the final 'tip'.

So when are they opening the lounge at Epcot... Its May... They announced it months and months ago. The 25th anniversary will be over by the time it opens.
