Disney travel agents

Following a chat Ive had with someone can anyone explain the benefits of booking through these companies that are Disney specialists? Are there pitfalls and what should I look for, or even can anyone recommend or advise against any. Ive been talking with some Canadian relatives about doing the cruise next year and they suggested I look into it as there may be different rules for UK based punters.

Which firms do you call "Disney Specialists" ? Booking from the UK as long as you're using ABTA bonded travel agents there shouldn't be any pitfalls.

a 'disney specialist' is a travel agent who's completed a disney sales training course known as 'the college of disney knowledge'. it's a pretty indepth training about disney's properties, packages and travel related information. so an agent that completes the course should have quite a vast bit of information drilled into them about disney.

i wouldn't say this is what makes agents great tho. the great thing about 'disney specialist' is that those agents who take the time to complete this training are 99.9% of the time disney nuts themselves. the training course enhances their disney knowledge - but it is no match for their love of disney, and their real world booking experience. it is THERE that they truly excel, and are a great asset in getting the best disney value for your money.

i myself have completed this training, as well as attended many on-site sales training seminars. the people i met attending the seminars were mostly travel agents, and ALL were bursting at the seems with disney knowledge and enthusiasm (spelling?).

i would definately recommend speaking to a disney specialist for any of your disney booking needs... look for Pam from kingdomkonsultants on the board, or i can always point you towards the disney specialists i use...

I`d love to say The Walt Disney Travel Company - but they pulled out of the UK market. We went with them in 2001 and they were 11 out of 10. Shame!
