Disney to turn over some jobs to service company

They should just sell off entire resorts to 3rd party operators ala the Universal/Loews relationship and be done with it. It is obvious that this is the kind business model they are going towards.

Corrus hit the nail on the head with his observation. I wouldn't be surprised to see entire restuarants and shops both inside the parks and out get leased to 3rd party vendors in the coming years. Why should Disney go through the hassle of paying employees and working out business plans and the most difficult of all tasks: pleasing the guests, when they can just sit back and collect rent? The spreadsheets will show the same profit either way with some creative accounting. That's not to say that all of these changes would be bad. I wouldn't shed a tear if counter service at WDW were handed off to more experienced operators, but only if Disney chooses high quality operators and not dreck like McDonalds and Aramark.

Outsourcing, especially in IT, is especially bad, who wants to call Dell Support in India? Not me!
Like Foamy said,

I'm paying for first rate customer support from a third world country?!?!
