Disney to Marriott ?

Hey All!

So my parents have a Marriott Time Share and their new Interval book (the exchange service they use) now has Disney Vacation Resorts in the book eligible for transfers. I am assuming that tickets and meals would have to be out of pocket since a package can not be made if you do an exchange.

Does anyone know if this exchange costs more then an average week exchange?

Mom and I are looking at some options to go for a week - she has never stayed on property before.

Thanks!!!

To the best of my knowledge, there are no extra fees associated with a trade into a DVC property, other than the regular fees associated with trading your timeshare.

But, be aware that there are very few chances of actually trading INTO a DVC resort. The only time that weeks are available are those random times when a DVC owner decides to trade *out* of their DVC resort and go elsewhere. It would help if the resort/points your parents own and are using to trade scores high in the "weight" calculation your timeshare network uses to decide who gets first crack at available weeks. I'm sure each network (RCI, Intervals International) has their own way of figuring that out.

Lastly, you might want to check out the DVC forum here on WDWMagic. You might find more specialized info about such a trade.

There is a $95 resort fee when you trade into DVC. This covers the bus service, magical express, etc. DVC has, however, ended its relationship with II and is now with RCI.

We've stayed 3 times in a DVC with exchanging our own timeshare. We were always treated the same and got the same things DVC members got to enjoy while there. We had to pay the $95 fee, but it was still worth it not having to pay out of pocket for such a nice place.

Doug, I'm glad you said they ended their relationship. I've been searching to stay there, but nothing is usually availble like it used to be. Thanks for the info!
