on the positive note they are moving people around to save jobs which is good.
as a business they are doing what any other business would do-if there is a major turn down in business they have to adjust in which they are doing-and like the article says as business grows again they will reopen as the need arises.
im looking to the day when all rooms are open again and pop century is open and disney hotels are running at 100% occupancy.
they need to catch bin laden tie him up and and let every disney cast member who lost their job take turns using a cattle prod on his head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:fork: :fork: :fork: :fork: :fork: :fork: :fork:
I had also heard that they are closing some of the rooms to the general public, but will be putting military personel in them while renovations are going on at Shades of Green. Did I hear that here, or read it in the paper? Sorry, I can't remember exactly. :hammer:
Right now the resorts seem a little more crowded than they were two years ago at this time. I cannot belioeve that they are closing resorts. I actually had to wait in line for a washing machine today. I am also having to park a little further away from the building. I knopw that they say attendance is off but I am not seeing it. The Friday after Thanksgiving EPCOT filled up five of the six parking lots.
I will tell you that I am very disappointed in the hotel staff this year. The rooms are not cleaned well and I had to have them come back and 're-turn' the room after we checked in. They are always out of wash rags and the ice machine on our floor has been broken for three days.
On a brighter note, there is still lots of Disnet Magic around.
You may wish to note that the Orlando Sentinel today is reporting in the business section that the many Disney Institute rooms will close in January until the tourists come back.
And by the way, I don't think the Friday after Thanksgiving is any barometer of the overall tourist slowdown. That's like saying the movies are always packed, just because you checked it out on a Saturday night! ;-)
I'm at the All Star Music. Last night when we came back from MVMCP I could not find a parking place between Music and Movies. The lot was TOTALLY full. The parks them selves are not crowded on regular days but the special events MVMCP, e night, etc. are packed. MCMCP was so full we could not get into any of the shows.
