Disney this weekend 5/2/09

Is there something going on (special)

I am thinking of taking the family for a day+ and notice that the campsites are overly expensive. Typically we pay $50-60 for a day/night. But currently the only ones available are $90

Even local hotels don't have deals going on. Sounds fishy.

IIRC Disney has increased the prices of some resorts on Friday and Saturday nights. I'm not sure which ones, but the campsites may be one of them.

If you look here you can see the pricing structure, and the weekends are more expensive.

My guess is the 4+3 deal has filled the majority of the onsite resorts.

Did you ask for FL resident rates? Value resorts should be $64/night plus tax if available (thats probably weekday rate)

My question really came about because the partial hookups are not available.

I guess I wonder why this is surprising you....especially since you are only a few days away.

The campgrounds are one of the most inexpensive on site accommodations, so wouldn't you expect them to fill first?

I have never experienced this in the past (doesn't mean it is not common)

Plus the no discounts on non-Disney properties is a little surprising.
