Disney surveys

Do many others get pounced on by Disney survey/census people as they exit the parks?

We were in WDW last December and are due to go this Dec too and were wondering if its just a Crimbo thing? Its seemed that as we left a park or even while wandering around DTD we would get asked (politley of course:) ) if we could answer a few questions.

We got asked a variety of stuff ranging from the park we'd just left to the quality of the road signs in WDW. Unfortunately I've got a weird sounding e-mail address which seemed to be incomprehensible when delivered in my native Brit tongue  . (We might get some business cards printed this year :animwink: )

I'm not sure if we get picked on especially; I'm not sure that I look outlandishly British (top hat, pinstripe suit and umbrella excepted :animwink: ) or maybe its a quiet time (first two weeks of Dec) but have others noticed this?

Note: we also got stopped at Discovery Cove and IOA.

I have been picked for exit survey questions on my last 2 visits. I remember them asking how many times i visited. Did i think Animal kingdom was a value. But i can't remember anything after that.

I've only been stopped once, that was three years ago as we were loading the suitcases into the car as we were getting ready to leave PO

When I went to Animal Kingdom the first year it was open, they were doing surveys. People were waiting online to participate in the survey because they thought the park was so horrible. It seems like Disney listened to the comments and fixed the bugs.

At DCA, I was stopped and asked stuff like:
Do I use AAA?
How many ppl are with me?
Is this my first visit?
Where am I from?
It was fast, politely done.

At least I didn't have to go through the way Universal Studios did it. They choose ppl and put them in an "interrigation room" for about 1/2 hr. :hammer:

One day in January, me and my best friend got the exit survey from Epcot, the entrance survey at MK, and then another survey at Epcot - from the same survey taker.

A survey person approached us at Epcot last year and asked our zipcode...then she said thanks and went away. Guess we didn't live far enough away to answer her questions :( Oh well.

No, that survey was just finding out how far people were comming to the parks.

I asked the woman if we hadn't qualified and she explained it.

At Universal Studios Florida my family was BRIEFLY surveyed as we entered the gates. This didn't involve any interrogation room and lasted only a few minutes. Granted, it was hot and humid, but besides that, the procedure was quick and in no way uncomfortable. the room thing is an exaggeration...

Maybe for you, but I went to USF and IOA 3 days in 2001. I went and sat inside to fill out surveys. It took about 20 minutes each time I did them. I think I filled out 5 surveys.

We were asked our zipcode upon entry into Disney-MGM Studios. Since there is a wealth of commercially available market data by zipcode, Disney is probably matching the zipcodes that guests give them with market data to "profile" their guests. Additionally, they could be measuring the effectiveness of a marketing campaign in a metro area by comparing attendance from that area with the previous year. If they're not doing this, they should be.

My wife and I were surveyed around 3 or 4 times during our last week long visit this past November. All of the same questions all at different places. Lasts like 3 minutes. No biggie.

The first year IoA opened, my parents and I took a survey when we entered the gates and were given 5 "tickets" to hand to employees we thought we're nice. Granted it took awhile, but afterwards, we went back to the gates and met up with the lady that gave us the "tickets" and she gave us all free passes. Incredibly nice for Universal.

We also get the surveys in the mail.

I remember the one at IOA...it took forever, and we were all very tired!

During Mickey Magical Christmas Party last year I was waiting for a Friend by the gates (I had her ticket) and I got to anwser one of the surveys...The person was very nice and it was about how often I vist and where I was from which park I liked the best what resort I way staying at. It was really not a bad experience.

Heading for the great escape.
I find that looking like a thug helps keep all sorts of survey people away, Im also the sort of person whos never asked to sample anything in a supermarket, I wonder if its connected?

My wife on the otherhand must have been approached almost daily last year especially at the water parks.

Ive been asked my Post Code (UK for ZIP) and what TV channel we watched - thought that would be fun as they will all be American - and suprised when they produced BBC1, BBC2, ITV ...

ten asked who we'd come with and that was it

Painless and simple

and I know they will use my PostCode to identify what type of person they think I am and create campaigns based on that - not sure if im the customer they want or not
