Disney Store

This thread didn't fit all the topics because it wasn't real Disney Company news or theme parks news but this is a thread to come up with ideas to re-injovate the disney stores.

This might be a little out there but hey, here it goes anyway.

Make the little non-profitable Disney store into a profitable mega Disney store. By that take over the space of once of those stores like JC Penny, Sears, Lord and Taylor---only one floor so far. The enterance where the people come into the store from the mall build what else, disney displays. After them build cash registers to make sure people don't steal as with the other door to the outside. You have merchandise from the theme parks, movies, characters, movies, music and more for kids, adults and teens. You walk around water, gardens, trees and stuff from disney to make a unique shopping experience. Its not complete yet but I was thinking about when I was going to bed last night.

I once dreamed of opening a Disney everything store. Disney wallpaper for the entire house, household goods, clothing, garden deco, etc.
Then the Disney store came out and that was the end of my dream.
It is fun to dream though..........

Cool idea! The key is they've got to limit the number of them, or I think they'd have trouble getting enough traffic. Maybe 20 "Mega-Stores" spread over the US would probably work. Going to one would be an event.

It would have to be more then 20 Gary, Cause although it sounds like a GREAT idea,I would not travel far just to go there. my rule of thumb is if I have to drive more then 1 hour, I just don`t go. unless someone else drives. That`s why I always fly to Disney world! :D

That is SOOO true!
Every time I go in there anymore I am always saddened that they don`t have any adult stuff and even the snow globes and figurines are getting scarce! I swear does Disney just assume that every Disney fan is married and had children? Umm Hello Disney, Earth to Disney.... There are millions of us Single ADULT Disney fans that want to buy Disney Merchandise!

the disney store is so KIDDISH. I mean is clothes are for little baies and kids 5 and under. No movie just stuff animals, not even that, no snow globes, figures though but the disney store stinks now.

Glad you liked my idea, I'm going to expand on it someday. I thought it was out their and every body would say. that sucks no one would go there. Wait, didn't they say that when walt built disneyland. If this store would get built it would totally revolutinze shopping and buying.

I got another idea-build like mini replicas of all the hotels, monorial and the park with some animation including the caharcters and movies....and disney music playing in the store. While for the clothes and stuff, you have clothes from the parks, based on characters, movies and anything disney. Music from movies, parks and the Disney Record Label  is there even one. Moviesa shirts, posters and other stuff. Snowglobes, pens, paper the susually, hats, and plenty more....

Our Disney Store (the one thats still open, anyway) has NOTHING but kids clothes and a few toys. You cant buy watches, collectables, videos or anything that you used to be able to purchase in it.

I have to say that I always enjoyed popping into the Disney Store when I was at the mall, because, 9 times out of 10, I was going to find SOMETHING that I wanted to buy, be it a collectable for my Sorcerer collection, or a watch for a gift, or SOMETHING. And most times, what I would buy would be an impulse purchase. My Disney Creditcard now has a zero balance for the first time since I got it

I think that perhaps part of Disneys marketing woes are its shortsightedness. I have no children, and my nieces are 18. I have NO reason to even go into the Disney Stores at this point. Here I am, a Disney fan and collector...and I dont even visit their retail outlets because there is no reason for me to anymore :(
