I don't know if I am aloud to post this here or not. I missed 2 pins from last weeks Disney Store pin release. My nearest store is 2 hours away. By the time I got there they were all out of
pin# 1 & 7. If any of you have these I would love to but them from you. I went to EBAY to get them but they are so high on there. Since I am wanting to collect the whole series I don't want to go over 9.00 a pin. If you can help please E-mail me or post a message. I would really appreciate it. My E-mal address is WEATHER@DOG.COM

I wish you the best of luck in this search. That first pin sold out at all the stores in my area in a matter of minutes. If you count people getting them off the racks to buy, it was more like a matter of seconds... After a visit to a second store I was able to trade another customer for an unopened 7 because the first store had a pin that the 2nd had sold out of first but that's about it :(.. There is talk that they may re-release the 1st pin because so many customers were upset, though. I'm hopeful for this :)

Yea Mr. P. I missed pin #1 also, so i'm hoping for a re-release also. If any one hears that this has happened, please post a note. i was fortunate to get the rest of them.

Two weeks in a row people have been knocked down racing that 15 feet from the entrance of the store to the rack with the pins after they opened the gait. It's crazy (and not in a good way). This last weekend the manager came out and warned us all that mall security would be called down if it was like it was the weekend before and everyone standing outside agreed to walk calmly toward the rack and not to push or shove, even after she said they only got 12 of one of the pins in. The gaits opened, we all walked over quickly and one person started grabbing fist-fulls of pins. Next thing I knew I was on my knees reaching into a huddle mass of human flesh yanking out as many pins from the pile of people as I could... After the dust settled there were no pins left on the rack (nor were there any of the little metal arms that hold the pins) and we were all walking around the store with arm-fulls of pins 'trading' ones we hadn't even bought yet for ones other people were hoarding in the store. It was really sad. :( I don't think I'm even going to bother with the rest, really. The cast control is nonexistent and the 'competion' is too serious. There really isn't anything fun about it... If it weren't so sad, it would have been funny to watch..

As a former Disney Store employee, I can say that I was relieved I only worked nights and weekends so I wouldn't have to deal with the collector mob very often. Back when the mini bean bags were big collectibles, you'd see grown people fighting to get their mits on stuffed animals when they were released at exactly 2 p.m. People would actually get hurt. Whenever I witnessed stuff like this, it just made me disgusted. I felt like shouting, "People, these are peices of cloth stuffed with dried beans! Take it easy!" I think collecting Disneyana (pins or whatever) should be fun not dangerous.

By some miracle, there was all of this weeks pins available late Saturday afternoon at the local Disney Store. I picked out the one I wanted (Toy Story 2) and was happy. I noticed that the two cast members at the counter had lanyards with Pin #1 on them. I didn't bother to ask what it would take to trade for that pin.

If the kind of madness Mr. Promey says keeps up, the Disney Store may have to set up a line and hold the pins back ala tickets to a concert. You step up to the counter, see which ones you want, limit 2, and you go on your way. It may not be easy but hey, there has to be a better way than the Oklahoma Pin Rush.
