Quick question, if I buy my park tickets at The Disney Store are they the actual tickets or vouchers? In other words, will whatever The Disney Store gives me scan straight into the wonderful thumbprint turnstiles? Thanks in advance everyone, and 18 days until Disney!

The tickets in the Disney Store are actual tickets that will work in the turnstiles and are not vouchers. The one I bought a couple of years ago was plastic like a gift card. So you will be good to go with them.

MYW tickets are the actual tickets.
Annual Passes are vouchers that will have to be traded in at a Guest Relations or ticket window.

Were they FLA resident tickets? If so, you might have to prove residency before they will activate them. Regular MYW tickets will work in the turnstiles.

Okay, so we bought our tickets at The Disney Store today. The adult tickets have a purplish background with the following characters on the front: Mickey, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy. We were kind of disappointed they did not have Minnie and Daisy, but oh well.

I could have saved about $8/person with Undercover Tourist, but I do have my tickets in hand now, and we needed to go to the mall for some other things as well.

The rep said they should work at the turnstiles, which validates what most of you guys said. I am just glad that I don't have to worry about getting in another line when I first arrive at WDW!! We can arrive a little closer to rope drop.

Oh, here are some follow-up questions, I have read that you can get onto MSUSA before rope drop (as early as 30 minutes before). So, my first question, is this true? And secondly are any of the stores open? We need to get an autograph book and I figured we should go ahead and do so first thing. Also, it is my daughters (18 mo old) first trip to Disney. Do they do anything special if you tell them it is a first time visit? THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP!

If you go to Guest Relations, you can get a pin for your daughter that says "First Visit". A very nice keepsake for years to come. I have alot of fun taking my friends there for their pin. I've done it three times and my next trip also has a newbie!

I'm pretty sure the stores are already open and you should be able to get an autograph book. Someone else who knows for sure will be able to answer better than me.

Enjoy your trip! :sohappy:

Main Street opening early with "Rope Drop" at the Hub hasn't happened for a number of years. Now, on most days, the best you can do is get inside the turnstiles where they keep people in the entrance plaza for the opening show with the characters and train.
I've heard that occasionally on very busy days they'll let people onto some of Main Street to alleviate crowds in the entrance plaza.

Though even within the entrance plaza you *should* be able to at least get an autograph book at the small gift stands on either side of the plaza.
