We live in suburb of Philadelphia and planned on doing some post New Year shopping at the outlets in Lancaster. I noticed on the outlet site that there's a Disney store outlet. I don't recall visiting the store in past visits to the outlets. Is the merchandise at the store overstock of what you can find in the regular store or is it merchandise made specifically for the outlet? Curious if anyone has visited the outlet stores before, in any state, and can provide some insight. Thanks!

The Disney Outlet I've been to is a mixture of items you'd find at a regular Disney Store/online, and some discounted park merchandise that's made it's way over: less 'Disney' things like Jack Skellington, iPad covers, PJ sets, dated tshirts, etc. What I found kind of interesting/weird was that most of the items referenced Disneyland, not WDW. (Also an East Coast resident). I've bought a few items at good prices over the years, but it's usually the Disney Store, not Disney Parks items, since I don't really have use for DL things. :p

Thanks, Belle. I'm with you, no use for DL items, but it may be worth a visit just to see what's there.

The Disney Outlet stores often carry Disney Store, Disney Parks and a ton of generic Walmart/Target/Dollar Store Disney type products. They also have outlet exclusive products. It's a very mixed bag. The prices are also kinda funny in that you can grab a bargain but other times products are actually priced more than what it would be at a Disney Store, which kinda defeats the purpose if it being in an outlet store o_O

An example is below. Disney Store exclusive on the left, Outlet version on the right:

They have a lot of DL items at the outlet in Gulfport, Ms too so I asked and they said cooperate sends DL items to the east and WDW items to the west. Idk if its true because I've never been to an outlet out west but its what I was told.

I'm familiar with that Disney Store Outlet location! I go there every year with my mom, Grandma and my older sister to buy pajamas. The outlet Disney store is smaller and stocks fewer products, as well as some Disney Parks exclusive products.

This is odd, because at my nearest Disney Store outlet (in Riverhead), they had the Animators' Anna doll for some reason. It's the same at the one you are referring to. I've seen the other Anna doll at the JCPenney's Disney Collection boutique.

Oh it gets weirder :/

Skip to 4:20 of this video where a girl goes to a Disney Outlet store and sees the Non-animator Anna/Elsa doll, but look at the corner of the box, it says 'Disney Store' which is a blatant lie right there :/ Since those dolls are not stocked in regular Disney Stores but Target/JC Penney types etc

There is a Disney Outlet store in the Wisconsin Dells. In fact we were just there after visiting the in-laws in Chicago. The WI Dells store is a mixed bag of Disney Store stuff (stuff we saw at the regular Disney Store in the Mall of America two weeks ago) and stuff from Disneyland. I have been to Disneyland and I don't mind grabbing a few of those items. At the outlet last Friday there were some them park pins and Haunted Mansion stuff that would work for either WDW or DL. Sometimes there is nothing of interest to me there, but it is fun to check it out.

There's a definite difference in the look of the dolls. I guess they do make specific merchandise for the outlet stores. Thanks for all of the info and the picture for reference!

The Riverhead store would have been my outlet store until we moved! Originally from Nassau County. It sounds like from what everyone has said it may still be worth the visit just to checkout what's at the store. Thanks! P.S. Have a NY bagel and a good slice of NY pizza for me!

I think we will make the stop and see what they have, even if we don't find anything, it's Disney merchandise and it's fun no matter what. Thanks!

I was just at that store, Rockville Square in Lancaster, PA this past weekend. It was claiming to have it's 50% off Twice Upon a Year sale. It did not seem like that big of a deal to me. As stated above, it was regular Disney Store items with some percentage off. The only things that were 50% off were Disneyland apparel and dated knic knacks. We went to the one in Hershey as well; same story. We left both stores with nothing but disappointment.

Boo

Sorry to hear that. I remember the 90's when Disney stores were everywhere, now they're a rarity.

There is one on the Philadelphia Premium Outlets in Limerick PA as well if that is any closer. Actually some good deals there if you are looking for clothing and moichandise.

There's one at the Tanger Outlets down here in Pigeon Forge, and I've never seen store stuff, and NO parks stuff. I was looking to stock up before we went to WDW, but there was nothing park specific.

Thanks copcarguyp71, while Limerick is closer, the only way I could get husband to spend a day at the outlets is with a promise of an Amish dinner in Lancaster. But it's good to know for next time!

I guess it all depends on the store, but that stinks. Hopefully the store is close to you and you can keep checking!

One of the two may have been discontinued due to high manufacturing costs or a better manufacturer was found. May be why one doll cost more at an outlet store.
