Disney Store Gift Card

Im going to buy one for my Girlfriend as a graduation present before we go on our trip in July, can a Gift Card we purchase from the Disney Store Online be used at the WDW resort? and if so are there any restrictions on it or what?

Yes it can be used at WDW. The only restrictions are the normal ones like you can't buy a gift with a gift card, etc. You can even pay for your vacation package or room with a gift card.

Really the only restrictions are a) walk-around vendors that are cash-only, like balloons, glow carts, etc and b) non-Disney vendors and restaurants, most of which are in Downtown Disney.

But sometimes places that don't take a gift card *will* take a Room Charge account from a Disney hotel. You can then use the gift card at the front desk to pay down the balance.

I bought my wife a gift card for our trip in October and I got dozens of different answers from people concerning where I could use them. The people at Disneystore.com had no idea, I called Disney World and they said yes I absolutely could use them throughout the park, a CM in WDW ( I had my friend who was there ask him) said NO the gift cards were not accepted. Can you see how I became frustrated??:lol:

I should have simply come to wdwmagic first because the vast majority of every answer I received was that YES you could indeed use the gift cards in the parks.

I just got back from WDW and I used gift cards to pay for my room, food, snacks--pretty much everything.

Well seeing as how they actively promote and sell them at the Food & Wine Festival, as well as waterproof wrist-band ones for use in the water parks, I think it's safe to say that particular CM was wrong.
