Disney still using Dreamfinder in Advertisments

I was watching my WDW trip planning video the other day and noticed something. When they start detailing the new attractions at EPCOT, they mention JIYI with Figment. When they start showing images of Figment, they show a scene with a figment puppet close up to the camera making faces. If you look at the puppeteer, you can tell by his outfit that it is Dreamfinder. Even though you can only see his shoulder its clearly Dreamfinder. That just bothers me, not sure why, but it does. The fact that they have killed off a character, yet they still have representations of it in their advertising. But I guess since you can't see his face, they figure no one will notice, how cheap!

Wasn't he liscenced by kodak?
I don't think so. No one on this site has been able to prove or disprove that. I don't think Kodak had rights to the characters. I think they contributed enough money to have a say in the outcome of the pavillion, but I don't think they had exclusive rights to Dreamfinder and Figment.

Hmmm, Disney wanted to kill off Figment and The Dreamfiner and opened a lame and horrible JIYI. Disney then listens to what people are telling them and reintroduces Figment into the newwest version of JIYI, but no Dreamfinder. However they choose to show the Dreamfinder in promotional videos. Either they like to use old footage or they like trick us into thinking the Dreamfiner is alive and well, only to find that he doesn't exist anymore. :(

Yeah, i noticed that limited edition pin featuring Dreamfinder and Figment in their Dreamship...

I was stunned to see him "back"!! I for one would LOVE to see him return. It's HIGH TIME he did.

You would think Disney of all company's would know the power of nostalgia....NOW is the perfect time to re-introduce him.

Lord knows the place could use it....

Yes, I noticed that Dreamfinder was holding Figment as well, but they do not show him. It is the same scene they used in the early 90's planning video that showed Dreamfinder actually holding Figment, but in the new version they have zoomed in to eliminate the shot of Dreamfinder.

We need Dreamfinder and not just him. We need some other good Epcot characters back like the Sage of Time,SMRT-1, the Dreamseekers or the Cranium Command cast who, while still there, aren't being seen because the pavilion is closed to cut costs.

more than likely it is easier to use old footage than to hire someone to come in and create new footage. We get a new video every year that we go to DW and the videos are themed differently each time but the same footage is always there...maybe tweeked a little. It breaks my heart knowing that there are people out there longing for the old characters and Disney keeps teasing them with little snippets:(
