Disney Springs observations

It's a nightmare for sure.

This past Sunday afternoon, we left Riverside heading for I4 and the backup from Buena Vista Drive onto Epcot Center Drive stretched a hundred yards or more - 40 or 50 cars or buses at a dead stop well short of the actual exit.

Not only inconvenient but unsafe in my opinion with the traffic coming off of the interstate at 70+ mph.

The traffic doesn't even get off of I-4 during some evenings. Basically it's a perfect storm of poor traffic light timing and no where to go. There's also the issue of traffic having to cross from the far right lane to the far left lane to reach both the parking garage and west side surface lot and there's only one entrance for both of those.

Makes me glad that there is absolutely nothing currently at DS that interests me.

So you don't like music, booze, shopping or movies? Granted that's the short list but your generalization makes little sense. I avoid the area too but there are still plenty of reasons to go and I do occasionally brave the traffic and drive in from 535 as it seems to be faster.

Not sure why you think that. I like music, especially at Rising Star where I had the time of my life last thursday (P.S. where is there music at DS? Do you mean that 2 man combo at Splitsville? ) , I like booze and the excellent atmosphere at Tin Roof on Idrive, I like shopping at Premium Outlets, and for movies, I like to go to Pointe Orlando.
I like all of those things, and they are all done better somewhere other than DS.

Awesome, glad you're not making your way down to DS. Clear up some room for people who do want to go.

Splitsville has a rotating line-up of duos, many quite talented (Tin Roof is pulling from the same pool), and recently started bands inside on Saturday night. A lot of talented people play the patio at HoB, including local legend Jeff Howell and occasionally Disney Legend "Yeeha" Bob Jackson. Some talented Irish musicians at Raglan. Latin nights at Bongos. And of course the "atmosphere" artists around; the flamenco guitarist is amazing.

Also the AMC is the best maintained chain theater in town, and the cheapest if you're an AP.

There's plenty of reasons I'd go to DTD; the fact I no longer go every week should tell you how horrific the traffic and parking have become.

I don't doubt that.

Maybe someday, in a year or so, when they finally have the garages built, and the Boathouse is open, I'll have a reason to return. I don't hate it, it's just too much hassle for too little.

I do admit that I'd forgotten HoB.
