Disney Restaurant's

I want to know why Disney hasn't tried to expand their restaurants across the country. My wife and I would love to go to a local "Spoodles" for dinner, or possibly to a "California Grill" that's just around the corner. It would only take a minimal investment from Disney and the payoff would be HUGE. I don't think that Disney should label the restaurants "Disney's Spoodles" or "Disney's California Grill", I think people would get sick of the name getting crammed down thier throat. (the regular people I mean, not us Disney nuts).

My personal opinion is that the Disney eateries are a resource that haven't come close to realising their potential. If there is a Disney Suit out there reading this, be my guest and bring it up to someone out there that can get this idea rolling, (all I ask is a complimentary dinner for my payment, LOL!!!)

Any of you out there have any other ideas of Disney restaurants that should be expanded?:slurp: :slurp:

The concept of Disney restaurants is good, but as already mentioned not one which we will see outside the parks.

The restaurants within WDW are appealing to us fans because they are Disney not because they're a restaurant.

To go to WDW and eat in the parks is part of the Disney experience, I don't think that magic exists beyond the "World" on your average high street.

Sorry, but WDW has never been known for its "fine" food. The food they serve is basically cafeteria fare, even in their "finest" establishments (no names...please). Now, if you want to get a Mickey Bar, hot dog & Coke, popcorn or a GIANT TURKEY LEG then WDW is the place. They have great junk food. Fine dining, no.

Right,

and that's why places like Victoria and Albert's wins National awards, and why the Flying Fish and California Grill have both been in Wine Spectator's Fine Dining section... why, I had no idea Wolfgang Puck sushi was "junk food"!

Disney has the only 5 dimond restuarnt in all of florida.
There prices are reasonable considering what you get for your meal, as long as your not talking QS.

Le Cellar is considered one of the best restuarnts in florida

Artist Point was given an near perfect in Zaggats

Victoria and Alberts was given 5 dimonds

Alfreado'/tapinaki steak house/ Le Chefs de France are all the best restuarnts from there respected countries

Honestly, would you go eat at a place like 50's prime time cafe at the studios when you've got one in the city nearest you? I wouldn't. I would say "No, forget that idea. I can do that when I'm at home." And that's one reason i like WDW, they have stuff that I can't do at home.

My thoughts exactly! When I'm on vacation, I hate to eat at anyplace that I can eat at right here at home - guess that's one of the many reasons I avoid the McDonald's french fry carts in the parks!!

I can't wait till October and get to go back to Artists Point and Chefs de France. Mmmmmmm.

I actually find it hard to ignore the McDonald's fries. I went on vacation to Europe for 3 weeks and I ended up eating at McDonalds on several occasions. Now don't start thinking that I ought to be enjoying the native food over there, trust me, I had plenty. Its just nice to take a break from all that "new experience" and have a little snack of something I know I will like. The same goes for Disney. i have ate many an exotic food at Disney's restaurants, but I always have room for something normal.

I respect that! The thing for me is, I remember when McD's fries were always so great...they're pretty iffy now - around here anyway! I'll give them this - when they're good, they're pretty darn good! :slurp:

A hint..

Check profiles for comments like:

Last Disney Visit: This week.
Next Disney Visit: Next week.

And you can find yourself lots of jaded CM's...

But.. seriously.. the food at Disney isn't too grand most times, with a few exceptions... just my opnion, i prefer Mythos at IOA.

I totally agree with you DMLDZM9 and WDWcook

I'ts obvous he hasn't even experienced the food there or read review form some of the top travel and dinning athorities.

Zagurts and AAA don't give out awards unless they have really earned them. And the resturant usually doesn't even know who or when there being rated so they see the true everyday way the food and service is.

BTW I am A AAA member and I was told that the there are only a few resturants that receive the five diamond award and if they hear complaints from members they pull it Imediatly so they can keep the integerity of this any other diamond rating they give in this area.
