Disney Quest?

I definately don't think they shoul get rid of it. However, give it a serious upgrades and TLC? Absolutly. Update some of the current more popular games, give it some new games and simulations (heck, if Disney were to build a Tron ride, they might as well build it here). And maybe they should expand it to put in new things and handle the crowds. There is room out back.
The urban planner in me says that it's a problem that there's this giant box building that gives you absolutely no clue what's going on inside. If they put some windows in or built a mini roller coaster that came out of the side (Time Racers FTW!), I think it would help draw people in and add some energy to that part of DtD.

When I went a month ago I did notice a few things...

Genie Cyborlator is now gone for good
A Fix-It-Felix section is by the Ventureport. A Wreck-it-Ralph statue stands right outside of it..
Mighty Ducks Pinball Slam Projection is now LED and is a lot brighter but audio for the game is so faint. But music was Loud tho..Still love this game!
Ride the Comix uses the Upper Level ships when it's not Busy
Wonderland Cafe tables have removed all of the computers since wi-fi is available..Frankly I am glad..Those computers were terrible and were not worth being there.
The Create Section to me just feels....Scummy I don't know what it is about it but I am pretty sure the one thing that makes me laugh is that all of the Computer screen programs (Living Easels, Sid's Create-a-toy) are Presented by Compaq which hasn't been in exsistence since the 2002 merger with HP...

I still miss the Chicago DQuest..Granted the layout was similar but wider to the one at DTD..It's now a Furniture store and the layout is still there if you look hard enough and the interior elevator still exsists. But as you enter the building where the Cyborlators were there are escalators that go up to where the former ventureport floor was..

At one point there was some faint noise (don't put much into it...more CM rumor than anything else I believe) about giving Disney Quest and the games inside a Marvel layover. Think Marvel Quest if you would...like I said...don't get too excited. This was before the Lucas purchase...who knows...I can tell you there is no plan as of now for a major capital investment for Disney Quest. Just minor tweaks and changes but nothing on a grand scale. Maybe the new Downtown Disney overhaul will prove me wrong....we will see.

I believe there is a clause in the universal/marvel contract to prohibit this exact scenario.

I'm going to be taking my nephew there when I come down this month. I want to play Fix it Felix!
When we went it was packed and you almost had to wait in line just for an arcade game. Havn't been since June '11, and am going june this year. So pumped. I'll be waiting to play the arcade version of Fix it Felix until then! :D

True, but sometimes a big building where you can see anything inside can build a sense of xcitement and anticipation where you're interested in seeing what's inside.

Well, without seeing the exact contract no one knows. But what has been said is that Universal has theme park rights. At that point you have to decide if Disney Quest is a theme park or not (even though they once billed themselves as an indoor interactive theme park).

Went there a couple of weeks ago and was bored to death. Most guests seems to be playing video games rather than doing the big interactive gaves that are in the building. So sad they took out every single pinball machine. Not worth going anymore for me, even with a free ticket.

Haven't been in probably 3 years (Genie was down back then even), but this is a shame--pinball was the highlight of probably every visit, at least when the machines were working.

The contract is filed with the SEC and can be viewed online: http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1262449/000119312510008732/dex1057.htm

The part in specific I was referring to is:

To the extent and in the territories that MCA has exclusive theme park rights, such shall not prohibit (except for the limitations described below) Marvel from itself developing or licensing its planned Retail concept which may include interactive elements as a major or minor element (presently intended to be called “The Marvel Action Universe” and referred to as such herein, but which may also be called “The Marvel Universe” or another name chosen by Marvel). The Marvel Action Universe will consist, inter alia, of the sale of comic books, trading cards, software, licensed or Marvel produced merchandise, the use of electronic games and/or pinballs or other coin operated games, and may include one or more virtual reality and/or simulator ride using Marvel characters or other themes. The following restrictions shall apply to The Marvel Action Universe (or elements thereof whether owned or licensed by Marvel).

a. Restrictions as to the geographic location of The Marvel Action Universe in areas where MCA has exclusive rights hereunder.

  1. The Marvel Action Universe will not be within 60 miles of any Universal Theme Park with a THE MARVEL UNIVERSE
  2. Mini-theme parks, recreation centers, game centers and the like designated with the Marvel name or the name of any Marvel characters or any major entertainment component of a Marvel Action Universe such as a motion based film ride shall not be within 60 miles of any Universal Theme Park with a THE MARVEL UNIVERSE.
  3. Within the ADI market of the city containing a Universal Theme Park (even to the extent such ADI exceeds a 60 mile radius) there shall not be a Marvel themed simulator ride.

You must've been on the wrong floor..They have at least 8-9 Stern Pinball Machines and 2 UltraPin Machines there....

They do but as stated before that they can't do any other attractions outside of Universal..That's why you saw the AVENGERail on the MK Express line and not the Epcot monorail line. As long as nothing is presented within the inside of the Theme Park with the Marvel Characters in WDW they don't get in a whirlwind of trouble.. However Disneyland can have attractions if they wanted and there were rumors about it when the agreement started...

I also just want to bring this up...This companies website showcases a proposed MARVEL City Indoor Theme Park..
http://www.falconstreehouse.com/master-planning/marvel-city-theme-park/

And I was just looking at this concept art about a Marvel City Indoor Park and saw these 2 pictures....And Well, does it look odd that one attraction has some Soarin Similarity??

And When did Raphael From the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles became a Marvel Character....(He's on the Far left Corner)

@Cmdr_Crimson, I believe Falcon's Treehouse also designed the Marvel/Nickelodeon park that was announced for Dubai. The art you posted may be for the smaller version which was announced as moving forward a few months park.
