Disney Quest questions

We are planning our third trip since '97 to WDW this October. Although we have been to Downtown Disney, we have never been to Disney Quest. I have read the guide book descriptions but I want to know what visitors think of it. How long would you typically spend there with a 9 year old? What are the best/worst things to do? I understand the admission price is included with a Park Hopper ticket, but other than souvenirs, food, etc., do you pay for the "attractions?" Any user-friendly advice would be appreciated.

Hey David!

DisneyQuest is AWESOME!!! Your 9 year old will have a ball.

There is only one attraction you have to pay for after you have paid general admission. It's some kind of karaoke thing...

It really depends on what kind of day it is outside. There are NO windows in DQ. I would plan on 4-5 hours for a 9 year old.

The worst thing you can do is ALIEN ENCOUNTER. No Disney feel to it, and it's bad...or as I would say "I ain't got time for that riffraff"...the best thing (if you like rollercoasters) is CyberSpace Mountain...OR...Pirates of the Carrabiean. There both really great!

Hope I answered all of your questions! Enjoy your trip! :)

You also have to buy a "card" (like a phone card) to use the arcade...which was my 8 year old's favorite...sigh. Maybe you'll be lucky and yours will like the "free" stuff best! ;)

We also enjoyed the Buzz Lightyear ride, and Pirates, of course!

And I could only take about 3 hours of the noise! Imagine Chuckie Cheese with attitude, and lots neater activities.

While You're There

Also, while you're there...make sure to eat at the Cheesecake Factory!

Get the chocolate moose cheescake! It's $15 a slice, but it is GOOD!

Guys, thanks for the info. Since Cheesecake is a favorite and chodolate is THE favorite, I gotta get a slice of that! How much does the arcade card cost?

If I were you I would get a Length of Stay pass or whatever the all-in-one card is called. Though it's pricy, it's definitely worth it especially if your kid loves DisneyQuest and wants to go a second or third time. It's also much more convient having one card rather than 2 or 3. Best "rides" at DisneyQuest are the Pirates and Virtual Space Mountain, and it's just cool to play unlimited amounts of video games for one price.
