Disney Quest question

Okay...I am almost 90 days out and I am starting to put our Disney plans on paper. Unfortunately, I am stuck on day 1. We will be in Disney for 8 glorious days. Our plane lands in Orlando at 10:55am. We are using the Disney Magical Express. I am guessing we will be in our room by 1:00pm.

Traveling with us will be a 1 year old and a 3 year old. I was thinking Disney Quest, but is there anything in there for my kids to do? My package does not include DQ, so I would have to pay $105.00 to visit DQ. Is it worth it?

Does anyone have any first day ideas? We were trying to save the parks for our first full day. We are also thinking of doing Fulton's on our first night. HELP!!!

My suggestion: DO NOT go to Disney Quest. A 1 and 3 year old will not get the most out of it. With a 1 and 3 year old, I would suggest lunch and going to the resort and taking a nap. Then making ressies at Ohana or a Character Dinner on your 1st day. Disney Quest is a waste of money, I am 26 and will never go back.

I and my kids love Disney Quest, but there won't be a lot there to do for your kids ages. There are a few things, but I'm not sure it would be worth $105.

If you don't want to go into a park, I'd definitely take some time to swim when you get to your hotel. That seems to be the preschool crowd's favorite thing.

Downtown Disney is fun for all ages with the toy store, train, jumping water, etc.

There's also miniature golf, or how about the campfire singalong at Ft. Wilderness? It's free, with a kid appropriate movie and Chip and Dale come to visit.

The Boardwalk area is a really pretty place to walk. You could go for a boat ride around the lake.

It would also be a nice relaxing night for a character meal like Chef Mickeys. You wouldn't feel rushed to get back to the park and could relax and enjoy the characters.

Don't worry, there's lots to do without park tickets!:)

I will have to agree with the others - do NOT go to Disney Quest. My husband and I went on our honeymoon and didn't feel like it was worth the money for us (partially because it was packed!) and there really isn't enough for kids that young.

Maybe go to one of the Magic Kingdom hotels for an early dinner then hang out on the beach for a while or something. Maybe even stick around to see the fireworks off in the distance!

Thanks, folks! Your comments just reaffirmed what I was feeling. I went to Disney Quest back in 2004, but I really couldn't remember if there was anything in there for my little ones. Definitely don't want to waste a $105 right off the bat.

We are going under the 'buy 4 get 3 free' deal, so we have a ticket for the first day if we wanted to go to a park. My main concern was keeping the castle out of sight until the next morning. My oldest is so excited about seeing the castle!

Oh how I love planning Disney trips!
