Disney Quest operating hours to be cut

With game technology being so advanced nowadays I feel like kids don't respond the same to it as they did 10 years ago.

Update what? Arcade games are pretty much gone. Put in a bunch of XBoxes? Interactive experiences, well, isn't that what Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is? A motion platform in front of screens? (And AA's) I guess you don't interactively shoot at things or move your own platform, but that's what it is.

There just aren't any new games or experiences right now, that are compelling. VR is on the cusp of being an in home thing,
everyone's got an HDTV 50" or bigger and surround sound in their living room. There's Kinect for XBox, motion controllers for the aging Wii.
What new tricks are out there that will wow people?

It just isn't the 80's or the 90's anymore. If Disney is going to build custom, interactive experiences, they're going to go
all out (Milennium Falcon attraction, I'd better be lookin' at you!). And there really isn't anything 'off the shelf' out there
in the world to upgrade to.

I'm willing to be shown the way, but at face value I am not sure where they could go with it at this time.
Feel free to educate me, I'm not stuck in my opinion, I might be missing something.

It seems like Splitsville, a bowling alley, is the better thing there, and serves the purpose. Put some classic
arcade games in, done. And I'm saying that as someone who has had fun in DisneyQuest, and doesn't like
to bowl.

The only thing I would say is that not everyone has an XBox or big screen TV with surround sound, etc. For a lot of people (even those who could afford at home VR stuff), the opportunity to experience such things at WDW would be novel.

do you really think Disney Quest is closing because of FP+? That place is a waste of space for the most part... should have closed a long time ago regardless of anything else

I personally think they should turn it into an indoor interactive mini-golf which could still be part of water parks and more offering plus others pay to play and a nice option for rainy days

Given the size, what about a combo indoor mini golf and a multi-level laser tag? I think that would potentially work with using the WP&M option to get in.

Ya know, if Nintendo had partnered with Disney instead of Universal, Disney Quest could be converted into a giant Nintendo World or something. That would have been awesome.

Why not replace it with a collection of different family entertainment options, themed around Disney characters, which aren't represented on property. These have the advantage of not aging quickly, and using generic technology.
Bumper cars (dodgems); a large soft play area for pre-teens; laser tag; climbing walls; trampoline park, indoor golf, escape room games etc.
This would all be complimentary to the other attractions in Disney Springs, and help attract families in there. I would imagine guests paying separately for each area, with &more tickets including X tickets to guarantee a steady flow of customers.

(Well, actually I'd put a Walmart in there; so I can buy snacks ans soda, but Disney aren't going to do that ).
