Disney Ponchos

I know I have read somewhere that Disney will happily replace a ripped poncho...anytime??? Is that true? We bought ours a couple of years ago and if something were to happen to one of them on this upcoming trip, they won't give us a new one now would they?

They use to, but not anymore as a general rule. However, I have heard of people who got them replaced with a receipt in the same visit. There are always exceptions.
If I tore one I wouldn't expect them to replace it. If it came apart in a seam, I would ask for another one.

I have a set of measuring cups that cracked on the first use (the white ones with the mickey parts all over it). One of the cups cracked clean up and down the side without being hit or dropped. I'm going to bring it back this next trip with the hopes that they'll replace it for me. If not, I think it was only $7-8, so no big loss- but I would like to have at least used them a few times before they broke! lol

I went to purchase a new poncho at Mouse Gear at Epcot once and they saw mine was ripped so they offered me a free replacement. I don't know if this is the norm of not. I would just plan on buying new ones but guess it doesn't hurt to ask.

I would go ahead and ask if they'd exchange them. I wouldn't expect it but it won't hurt to ask.
I just got back a week ago and had to buy one while I was there. The guy at the register told me to keep the receipt so I could exchange if it ripped.

Since I work at a national big-box sporting goods store (rhymes with "Lasso Shop"), I get our branded ponchos at 40% off. And since there is a "Lasso Shop" in Orlando, all I have to do is show up with my employee badge before I go to the parks.

So...$3 for a poncho that is twice as thick as the ones they sell at WDW for $8 because there is the "Disney Parks" logo on it.

Take THAT, Darth Nickelndime!

Heck, I have 3 Universal ponchos that I can send you if you're not afraid of causing an uproar in Disney... lol. I don't know why I'm saving them. I wish I never bought them.

Whenever I see a post about ponchos, I always post a reply suggesting rain suits in lieu of ponchos. Some people have never seen, or considered, rain suits. Ponchos completely fail at the one thing that they're supposedly designed to do - keep you dry. Ponchos are overpriced garbage bags that have no practical use outside of a theme park. And at some attractions, the CM/TM asks guests to remove their ponchos.

None of the above are issues with rain suits. They pack flat just as flat as a poncho but keep you quite dry.

rain suits come in countless colors and designs. They're a must for the Florida-weather theme park enthusiast.
