This now makes me sad. What ride with an intriging story at any Disney has not been touched with a movie/TV show?

Only 2 open attractions I can think of are the Timekeeper and CoP.

...and Alien Encounter. That would make for a great movie...:hammer: :lookaroun

It turns out that there is ANOTHER Attraction based movie coming out soon after The Jungle Cruise. It is Called " Monorail."

Well actually.......A few months ago, right after The Haunted Mansion movie came out, there was a comic in my newspaper that showed two people walking into a movie theatre with the words "MONORAIL" in big lights overhead, and one person said to the other, "one more Disney ride turned movie" I clipped it and saved it, if I can figure out how, I'll post it.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
This guy lacks creativity, imagination, originality, personality, congenialty, common sense, and, well, he just stinks. Eisner is going to screw it all up. Pirates was excellent. Haunted Mansion was terrible. Now, how on earth could they possibly make a good movie out of the jungle cruise, an admittedly corny, tongue in cheek attraction. It is a great ride, a classic. But, a movie. This guy needs his head examined. Leave the classic attractions alone Eisner. Golly, if you wouldn't fire all the animation talent, just think of the possibilities.
Hey Eisner, did anyone ever tell you that you stink? just checking

Oh my god this is freaky, you read my mind. I was thinking it could be less action and more romance, like the skipper and the passenger hate eachother but fall in love at the end. Maybe it could be set during war time so as to add to the suspence.

It was a joke. The African Queen was the movie that inspired the Jungle Cruise. The JC isn't BASED on it, but Walt saw it and said that a trip down a jungle river would make a cool attraction.:D

Now come on everybody there is a lot of room to make a great Jungle Cruise movie, the ride is comedic, entertaining and has a true sense of adventure (that is missing from the cinema today), if done right it could be a great movie. Hopefully Disney will learn from their mistakes with Haunted Mansion – that movie failed because Disney created a movie that was simply a tribute to the ride, they need to take to concept from the ride and take it into a new direction like they did with Pirates of the Caribbean and Mission to Mars. Think of the potential of a comedic action film done in the vein of the African Queen, casting will be the most important part of production.

I totally understand why Disney would dip into their vault of rides for inspiration, not only is the conceptual phase of production complete but there is instant audience recognition that will save $$$$ in marketing. No one gives WB a hard time for making films based on the Harry Potter books.

And someone asked if Disney would make a ride based on a movie based on a ride – and well they did to point with Mission Space, Mission to Mars inspired the movie Mission to Mars and the influence from the movie can be seen in the currant EPCOT Center Pavilion.

HEY!!!! What about Cranium Command THE MOVIE...Oh no, i have it, Spaceship earth THE MOVIE....Oh wait, even better. How about a movie where a maniacal executive hijacks the fortunes of a Megacompany and opens up a cheap carnival style theme park and tries to pass it off as a first rate park; all the while , forcing previous board members out of the business by forced retirement, then hiring all his friends to the company board to ensure his complete control. They can call it "Disney's California Adventure!!" Now that's a blockbuster............

Sounds good to me, and as long as it makes some money where's the harm in it! Hopefully they'll do it it great, like PotC. I can't wait for the seqels to that movie!

I don't think it is a problem. But Jungle Cruise was based on a movie. So why turn a ride that was based on a movie into a movie.

Hold up I liked DCA - I wouldn't call it a carnival style park, it was a tad small in some areas but "carnival" is a bit harsh. MGM was no better in it's first few years (in fact some may say that the park is still in need of work).

This is just in off of newmovies.com...
Disney has just lined up a series of new movies from the parks to be entitled:

Meet and Greet 1: The Beginning
Meet and Greet 2: After 20k
Meet and Greet 3: The future of Space Mountain

Of course, Eisner is Executive Producer so what else would you expect??

I loved POTC but in my opinion, The Country Bears was a terrible decision that did make $$$ I'm sure but I don't think it helped to enhance the attraction at the parks. I think that is a good example of how making a few extra $$$ can ruin the reputation of the rides if not done correctly as POTC was.

Why not make an Indiana Jones type adventure / romance and it can partly be on a jungle cruise, but don't name it Jungle Cruise. The captain of the ship can be a comedian.

Kinda off subject but for all you indy fans, Indy 4 (not yet named) is currently in script writing to film in summer of 2005 and to be released in summer 2006. It is starring Harrison Ford (signed contract)and no other details have been released at this time.
