Disney * Pixar Short Film Festival

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There are now THREE Disney theme parks (Disneyland, Epcot & Disneyland Paris) with the same poorly used 3D cinema that are begging for a new show to go inside them. For a company that likes to spread development costs, this is the second biggest no-brainer theme park project for them after Star Wars Land.

The best thing to do would be create an entirely new 3D experience.

If Disney isn't willing to do that, is Magic Journeys considered decent enough to be brought back?

They should've kept EO, or at least put Honey back in, expecting a lot for a $100 admission fee than something found on vhs tapes

By that reasoning, why go to any park if all the attractions (especially the shows) can be found on YouTube?

Seeing the movies in theaters is a different experience than at home, unless you have a $10,000 home theater.

Also, Get a Horse is knock-your-socks-off in a 3D theater.

I saw Get A Horse with Frozen in the cinema, best way to see it is on the big screen.

Both Honey and Captain EO were tired, I don't get this obsession people have with old attractions coming back. Then people complain because "X is dated! Disney need to replace it!" You can't have it both ways.

But the short film festival idea is so temporary, why not invest creative capital to make something new and worthy; they could've made a 4d show with live actors and special effects(fog, mist, leg ticklers, etc.)

Also a rule of thumb is that replacements should be better than it's predecessor

They should rotate the shorts. If Star Tours can provide a different experience each time, so could this attraction, and Soaring for that matter.

I wholeheartedly agree. I don't know if the Epcot Update has plans for the theater, but an easy upgrade (relatively speaking), would be to rejigger all the 4D effects to be available for any show. Then you can update the theater on a regular basis to show a wide variety of shorts. You can add 3D and special effects to some of the pieces from Fantasia and Fantasia 2000. You can have a daily showing (just one) of Captain EO amidst all the other things. If there's a new big IP, you can create a live stage show with actors sort of like Muppets 3D or Terminator.
