Thanks to everyone for the input. @marni1971 brought up a really good point about BALANCE, and I guess that’s the real problem. Disney used to know how to get the right balance of original ideas and experiences and when or even IF they should sprinkle some IP in there. They would have the ideas for new rides or experiences first and then think about how they could COMPLIMENT with some IP. Today it seems to be the complete opposite and somewhat backpedaling thinking of starting with the IP first.
“How can we make a guardians of the galaxy attraction?”
“hmm well everyone likes roller coasters!”
“Brilliant!”

They just don’t make Imagineers like they used to...:p

Interesting new tidbit. In the recent re-org that gave Chapek Parks, Experience and Consumer Products and created the DTC division. The Muppet Studio remained aligned with Consumer Products, meaning that technically the Parks do have their own unique IP.

I'm surprised that they moved to Chapek's org vs. going to Studios, Media or DTC orgs. It will be interesting to see if he does anything more with them. I know they have a Streaming show proposed and Muppet Babies on DJr.

I'm feeling a little salty, so take this as such.

There should be a new dedication plaque at the entrance to Epcot:

To all who come to this former Place of Joy, Hope and Friendship
WELCOME

IPCOT is inspired by Disney's IP. Here, Bob Iger's acquisitions are celebrated through Bob Chapek's IP-based rides, attractions, and merchandising opportunities that promises new and exciting benefits and bonuses for all shareholders and executives.

May IPCOT entertain, thrill for short periods of time, and, above all, may it instill a new sense of disbelief in Disney's ability to shove IP everywhere and suck more and more money from customer's wallets everywhere.
