Mickey Mouse is headed for his next milestone – 90 years of nonstop entertainment! To celebrate, Disney Parks will kick off the World’s Biggest Mouse Party later this year in honor of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, with special festivities held at each resort around the world. The party is so big, it’s happening all the way into 2019!

Disney Parks will also mark Mickey’s birthday, November 18 – in honor of the release of his first theatrical film, Steamboat Willie on November 18, 1928 – with commemorative merchandise, treats, photo locations and more.

But that’s not all! Disney will keep the party going with a star-studded celebration on ABC dedicated to Mickey Mouse, an extended-length birthday episode of Disney Channel’s Mickey Mouse animation shorts and dozens of new books, arts and crafts and comics from Disney Publishing as part of Mickey’s 90th birthday celebration. A new show, Disney On Ice presents Mickey’s Special Celebration, will also begin touring throughout the Asia Pacific region this July.

To top it off, legendary Disney animator Mark Henn will paint Mickey Mouse’s official 90th portrait, which will debut on the cover of Disney twenty-three in the fall. D23 will also host Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse at Walt Disney World Resort this November for two days of panels, presentations and entertainment.

I’d put money on the New Disney On Ice show is just an old show with a new name that features 30 minutes of Frozen and a brief new reference to Mickeys Birthday. Looking forward to hopefully being proven wrong about that though.

Will it be as big as Mickey's 60th Birthday back in 1988? But knowing today's Disney, they will never revisit the days of making a birthday parade for a character such Donald Duck's 50th Birthday Parade that was at both a WDW and Disneyland in 1984.

Mickey's 60th Birthday celebration was so big that Disneyland and Walt Disney World gained two different versions of Mickey's 60th Birthday Parade.

Disneyland even made a temporary unit for MSEP that had Mickey dancing on top a pink birthday cake.

I think the last time a Birthday Parade was created was for Goofy called The World According To Goofy at Disneyland made to honor his 60th anniversary.

Ironically Disneyland dumped Soundsational this year for Pixar Fest lol. Ironic considering the year long celebration for Mickey. But I know those decisions hardly go hand in hand.

But, man, they really did put so much effort in at one time. Nowadays it's about a millenial or Disney Mom gushing about the cupcake and merch.

Probably one of the most bizarre daytime parades at any Disney Park. But serious kudos to the performers on roller-skates and bikes since they were able to ride onto a ramp on the first float. You don't see modern Disney parades pulling stuff of like these anymore. The closest would have to be Tokyo's Jubilation (By OLC) since the final float with Mickey Mouse had performers walking on a giant moving platform.

Really? America on Parade had a Salem Witch Float by showing a girl getting dunk to see if she Floats and a boy in Shackles.....
