Disney over Memorial Day Weekend

Hello, my family and I will be attending Disney World from May 18th to May 26th which, unfortunately, happens to be over Memorial Day weekend. Two of us are in college, so we decided to travel the week after finals. How busy are the parks around Memorial Day weekend? I have read varying reviews, and was wondering if anyone had any direct experience traveling this time of the year to Disney World. Thank you!

We traveled at this time last year and are returning this year. It's busy but not awful. Spring Break or summer are more busy. DHS will be very busy but it always is for Star Wars Weekends.

We are arriving Memorial Day but doing Uni for two days before pivoting to Disney. I was also curious about crowds so thanks for the question and info.

If you are going to the park during the weekdays it will still be busy but not as busy as the actual weekend, but it's always like that. My advice is to make sure to do some research and planning before you get there. Figure out which parks you'd like to go to and which rides are priorities. Book your fast passes ahead of time. Also if you want more park and ride time, consider quick service meals instead of table service. They are cheaper and faster. Eat at times like 11:00 or 2:00 for lunch and 4:00 or 7:00 for dinner instead of the "normal" times. Avoid the park with the extra magic hour if you are able to. This park usually tends to be more crowded that day. If you pay extra, invest in the Park hopper option if you are only there for a couple of days. I would highly suggest though 1 day per each park and possibly 2 days for Magic Kingdom. Since it looks like it will just be a couple of you, you should move pretty quickly around the park. Have fun, and enjoy the magic.

We've done Memorial Day Weekend, two out of the last four years. It's not that bad. Get to the parks early and you can do some popular rides before the crowds arrive and use the fast passes. It's more than doable. MGM (it's still MGM to me) will be a little busier because it's Star Wards weekends. Keep that in mind. The weather will be hot and humid. It's pretty much summer in Florida by that point.
