I know that comics often borrow from each other, but that was pretty much lifted from another comic strip that I saw at least a decade ago. (I want to say it was Mother Goose and Grimm or something like that) I'll have to see if I can find it.

Edit: I found reference that it was from May 23, 1993, but I can't find a pic of the actual comic.
