So I got Mario Party 8 yesterday and my gf and I love it just like all the others. And it got me thinking what if Disney and Nintendo partnered up and made Mario and the gang part of the MGM Park? It would be a big improvement I think. Also endless possibilities for attractions.

Anyone else have an opinion???

Maybe

Maybe but six flags already has a deal where they have wiis and advertising in their park.

Also Disney would never use nintendo characters because it might start overshadowing their own. Also considering nitnendo has their own media department and stuff now to make movies I really dont know how disney would react to that.

Ps I think nintendo has their own amusement park type thing in Japan.

Weird and somewhat Ironic bit of info here..But does anyone recall a little movie called Super Mario Brothers? Yeeahhh the John Leguizamo and Bob Hoskins one...Well keep in mind it was Distributed through Hollywood Pictures a subsidieary company owned by Disney....They could have done something "if" the movie was a success but like any other game movie it was game over before it came to be. Let's just place the plaque up for the next move DOA Dead or Alive....oh brother..

Nintendo doesn't have an amusement park in Japan, AFAIK, Sega does, however.

Personally - I'd love to see Nintendo and Disney partner up for a great theme park presence. Both have incredibly iconic characters, and speak to a lot of generations (the Wii sales are living proof of this).

And can you imagine a Metroid themed dark ride (with the intensity of Alien Encounter)? Or a Legend of Zelda stunt show? Oooh! An F-Zero Star Tours styled ride!

Good God...just imagine the Disney/Pokemon merchandise sales ALONE...

(Yes - Nintendo/Disney fanboy here).

This is true, but Disney just opened up a new development house exclusively for Wii and NDS games (was reported in the Nintendo community a few months back). I don't think it's out of the question for them to chum-up more in the future. My guess is the Six Flags deal was made long before the Wii hit big and Disney decided to capitalize on it.

A Nintendo theme park with the production values of a WDW park is pretty much my ultimate dream. That'd be a hell of a fifth gate.

Franchises ripe for lands/attractions:

-Mario--perfect "main" area--plus Mario Kart would make for an awesome ride, along with the Bros. battling Bowser
-Metroid--awesomely dark sci-fi world
-Zelda--foresty fantasy world
-Pokemon--I'd love to see a Pokemon safari!
-Kirby--an ideal kid's zone
-Star Fox--intergalactic thrills with anthropomorphic animals
-F-Zero--obviously the home to the fastest, most exhilarating rides in the park
-Pikmin--get shrunk down to the size of a nickel and fight monstrous bugs with the brave Capt. Olimar and his Pikmin crew
-Kid Icarus--maybe not a whole land, but battling Medusa with Pit would make for a sweet ride
-Ice Climbers--would be an awesome theme for a massive frozen treats pavillion

It all fits together almost too well. I want this to happen. BAD. This would be one park where I would be going well out of my way to do character hunting/getting pictures... and I'm 23... anything to get next to Samus, rawr.

I think the Japanese park you guys are thinking of was a Pokemon theme park... as far as I know though it was temporary and very carnival-ish. Here we go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poképark

Oh, I've had that idea, too! Any sort of Nintendo theme park, if executed correctly, could be fantastic. Here are some of my ride ideas --

Mario themed --
*Luigi's Mansion - Interactive shooting dark ride
*Mario Kart: Double Dash - Dual-Track Indoor Dark Ride
*Koopa Troopa's Shell Spin - spinning ride where you ride in koopa shells
*Yoshi's Island Adventure - Combination junior coaster/dark ride... picture a Yoshi as the first coaster car and multi-colored eggs for the others. Would have scenes based on Baby Mario/Baby Luigi/Yoshi/Kamek
*Donkey Kong Country: Barrel Blast - more intense themed coaster in a Kremling mine located within a massive Mt. Rushmore-style carving of the Donkey Kong characters

Legend of Zelda themed --
*The Wind Waker Voyage - Maelstrom-ish mini-flume/dark ride
*Tingle's Balloon Flight - Midway-style themed ride
*Legend of Zelda Adventure - Spiderman-style 3D dark ride based on elements from Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess
*Carousel of Hyrule - Unique carousel with some horses based off of Epona but also some other Zelda animals such as those wild boars and octororks

Pokemon themed --
*Pokemon River Cruise - moderately intense flume (not as bad as Splash), but with pokemon along the way
*Pokemon Encounter - think the now defunct Triceratop Encounter at Islands of Adventure with a variety of large pokemon
*Legendary Quest Coaster - an inverted roller coaster themed to Legendary Pokemon

F-Zero themed --
*Mute City Circuit - fast paced, intense, launched coaster

If I think of anymore I'll post/edit later.

See what a little research can do. They had that pokemon one in japan and they have that one in the link in japan also.

Disney would never partner with nintendo for rides and attractions. I can see six flags doiung this though.

The nitnendo characters would overshadow some of disneys. I think nintendo's characters are too big for disney to agree with it.

The zelda universe would make a great pirates type boat ride. That could fit in the same area.

See what actually reading a little research can do? That site is for a "prototype and proposal" for a Mario simulator... featuring guys dressed like the Mario Bros., hooked up to bungie cables, messing with props from the Mario games... I'd hardly call that something similar to the attractions at WDW or even Nintendo's Pokemon Park... looks more like MXC or Ninja Warrior.

But I definitely agree, I wouldn't want Disney and Nintendo in the same park... they'd be battling for attention too much.

Disney and Nintendo have had a working relationship since Walt's time. In the 60's, Disney and Nintendo struck a deal to make Disney character playing cards(playing cards having been Nintendo's primary business at the time, it's how they started off back in 1889). Besides that, there were a few Disney themed Game & Watch games featuring Mickey and the gang, and of course, in recent years, Disney Interactive has established a studio to focus solely on Nintendo's systems. I think that having Mario and friends show up at the parks sometime would be absolutely fantastic, especially considering that Nintendo in some respects, is the Disney of the video game industry.
