I don't think Disney needs to model their attractions after Universal, but hopefully create something better.

Sit tight - rumor has that the Indy ride (from Disneyland) may be headed to MGM Studios. Time will tell!

Glad you had fun on your trips.

Ive never been to DL, what is the "indy ride"?

Oh, it is an incredible attraction. It utilizes EMV vehicles, which are the same types of vehicles used in Dinosaur (they are on a track but can move around). It's highly themed and at one point was considered the greatest theme park attraction around because of its technology when it opened. At the moment, it is rumored to come to WDW and replace the Indy Jones Stunt Show. I think its a great ride to clone here, but I would have rather seen it at MK in Adventureland.

Actually, Disney would do well to model some attraction after Spider Man. It is awesome, and if Disney can beat it, all the better!

Did we ever conclude whether Universal DID or DID NOT steal Disney ideas when putting together its hit parade of attractions at Universal-Orlando and IofA? For example, Jurassic Park vs. Countdown to Extinction now Dinosaur and Men in Black vs. Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, others? I seem to recall a thread where someone proposed that Imagineers were laid off and were hired on at Universal where they took drawing board ideas and put them into production before WDW could act. Truth or fiction?

As fun as Spidey was, I'm bored to tears with it. Now when I ride it, I feel like I'm just going from 1 set piece to another, having something jump at me, then moving on.

It's a good WOW first impression type attraction, but not something with enough charm to hold my attention span over the years. And the fact that it relies on so many video screens knocks it down a few points in my book.

I want AA's in my rides, feels more "REAL"

AA's are Audio Animatronics like those in the Hall of Presidents, American Adventure, POTC, Jungle Cruise, Spaceship Earth, etc.

As for the rest of it, I don't really know what you're saying.

On a majority of rides, if you ride enough, it's going to get old to you. They don't change. Spiderman after time will start to age, and draw less people (especially locals, and repeat business) because it's the same every time (at least I think so.

AK is my favorite park, the Safari my favorite ride. I love SeaWorld. They change, it's rarely the same thing 2 times in a row.

Nope..

I'm just saying that no matter if/when something replaces Indy's Stunt Show, then I won't necessarily go to it each time I visit MGM, unlike riding the Safari and doing the 2 exploration trails at AK or all the shows at SeaWorld.

The original Jurassic Park ride was built at Universal Hollywood in the late 90's. However, the ride design when compared to CtX is completely different. Jurassic Park is a flume ride where the vehicle concept for CtX is more like Spiderman. Spiderman took the EMV concept one step further by adding the 3-D effects. Men in Black came after Buzz, but Disney did not create the interactive ride idea. Sally Rides made the first one in the early 90's.

Dueling Dragons is (supposedly) the stolen design of the Dragon's Tower attraction that was supposed to go in Beastly Kingdom. The story is different, but the idea of the old, decrepted castle is the same. That's the only story (that I know of) about Disney Imagineers giving Universal Creative ideas to compete against Disney with.

I always complain that Disney has too much of a tendency to put in Roller Coasters instead of inventing new rides. I know people hate whenI say this but EE is still not anything ground breaking and originally like Mission Space was.

I just think that they should invite new types of rides.

The 2 best attractions I have ever been on are the Indy ride at DL and Spiderman at IOA (in that order). With the Indy ride have 3 different endings puts it a step above Spiderman. I was prepared to find Spiderman so-so when I first rode it because of the 3D aspect. I have/had eye problems which make 3D movies very difficult for me to experience. The 3D/4D effects of Spiderman were done in a way that I could see them. Many of the 3D effects in HISTA and Muppetvision 3D are lost on me. They appear flat (no floating pie etc.) I have had surgery on both eyes since our last trip in June of 2003 so I'm hoping that this year I am able to experience the full joy of 3D. Sorry, I got a little off track here. I think it would be great to see an Indy ride in Florida.

If Indy goes, they should put something totally brand new. Not copy some now old ride that gets more and more boring everytime you ride it (spider-man), or a show. Something totally UNIQUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Indiana Jones Adventure NEVER gets old to me. And 3D technology? No way--not in my Temple! It would completely ruin the whole idea of being inside the cursed ancient temple guarded by a terrifying demon if you had 3D glasses on. Real mummies flying at me, giant snakes attacking me, lasers shooting at me causing flames to fly in the air, and a boulder rolling right at me (not to mention the Chamber of Destiny, the insect room, the rat cave effect, the dart room, and the the Pit of Bubbling Death) will ALWAYS be far more impressive to me than 3-D. And, the fact that there are something like 160,000 different ride possibilities on Indy make every ride different. I say change very little to the Indiana Jones Adventure when it comes...new cursed artifact will be more than enough change for me. For those of you who haven't ridden, it is THAT good, arguably better than any ride at Disney World, including the Tower of Terror.
