Disney Needs More Accuracy With Wait Times

Iphone and touring plan's "lines" app - problem solved.
I used it the entire first week of may and it was never more than 3-5 minutes off.

Information is great but when it artificially lowers the standby wait time how does it help.

The CMs scan the Fastpass FLIK cards on a separate reader from the standby ones. The reader at the end of the line automatically knows which line the card came from.

Until they implement NextGen technology with RFID's in theme park tickets, that could measure your movement within a queue, as well as the amount of people ahead of you and behind you, FLIK is the best they can do - it's been working fairly well for years.

If it worked well, then the signs wouldn't be posting 30 minute wait times when its actually 5 minutes.

Ask an [experienced] cast member what the wait time is - they can give you a better estimate by visually looking at the queue than the FLIK system can.

I don't think you're understanding: the FLIKs sent in the Fastpass line DO NOT change the Stand By wait time. They are separate.

Please believe that most of us know how to do our jobs, even if it doesn't look like it from a casual glance. :animwink:

My only real gripe with the FLIK system is that the beep is VERY annoying, both the chime to tell the CM it's time to scan another card, as well as the acknowledgment of a good card scan.

Yes, I know they need to alert the CM *somehow*, I just think that there's a better way than an ear-piercing tone.

I say like this, if you been to Disney many of times you can tell by the crowd level. I think CM's do a great job!! They keep the people moving.

I never put much stock into the wait times. I'll usually use a combo of wait times and just a visual inspection of the length of the line.
