Disney Music at Six Flags!?!?

To avoid legal issues with Disney, they must change a few tones, notes, or sounds in the song and they can avoid the songs copyright......
This would not avoid legal issues. Changing a note or two here and there does not affect the copyright. In fact, aritsts have been sued over a phrase as short as 6 notes being similar to another song. The royalties are paid through BMI or ASCAP.

TomMorrow, u go to a pre-school?

Omg,dont copy disney, make your own music, whats so hard to explain?

No, I go to a high school, and every on the daily TV announcements during the credits, they plan a random song. Usually, its some radio hit, but Hakunna Matatta came up once or twice. Believe it or not, half the class (of high schoolers, remember) started singing along.

But my point is, people play Disney music at places for fun all the time, so why is it so wrong when Six Flags does it?

Six Flags New England is a decent park.
Granted this discussion isn't about Six Flags, but Six Flags New England is a horrible park! To overpriced, not very many rides, the employees need an attitude adjustment, and it is dirty. I went there twice in 2000 an vowed to never go back. Both times that I went were horrible trips. When I went to get some lunch at the food courts, tables went uncleaned, trash was overflowing out of the trash cans, old food was on the floors. Some of the rides we unoperational or closed and the staff was very unhelpful. The park was much better when it was Riverside, but no, Six Flags had to come and put their hands in the mix and ruin this nice family park and turn into another mindless thrill park. If I had children I would have rather taken them to the park when it was Riverside versus Six Flags. All you primarily see at Six Flags are a target demographic, teenagers and young adults, with the obnoxious state teenagers are in these days, I would be appaled to take my family there, if I did have one.

So, following your reasoning Disney shouldn't play all that 1890's style music on Main Street? They didn't write it. Some of it even comes from Rogers and Hammerstein musicals from the 50's and 60's which are still under copyright.

By your logic, Disney shouldn't have Winne the Pooh because they did not create him, Test Track because it is GM's stuff, Tower of Terror because it is Twilight's Zones. It is just stupid to think that no one else can use anyone else's stuff. As long as Disney gave permission or is being compensated who really gives a crap?

Six Flags Magic Mountain (California)
Six Flags Great Adventure (New Jersey)
Six Flags Great America (Chicago, Illinois)

'Okay' Six Flags Parks:

Six Flags Over Georgia
Six Flags Worlds of Adventure

The rest of the parks are not very high quality, from what I hear.

I agree with you on your list. I've been to alot of Six Flags parks. I'm partial to Great America myself because I went there alot while I was growing up. Even when it was Marriott's Great America I liked it.

I think WDW & DL are the greatest resorts on the planet. Six Flags though isn't all that bad. They have their nitch and do a good job at it.

Regarding others comments on music:
As for what music is played at a Six Flags park. Who cares!!! What does it matter. If they pay for the right to use it what do you care. There are much worse things in this world to be upset about.

Six Flags New England is alright. It's no WDW of course. But it is one of the best parks we have in New England area. The only other I can think of is Canobie Lake (and God knows thats as dirty as anything). I must admit I do have some problems with the cast members (i mean employees) and how the park is run- especially the water park. They don't supply enough tubes for those who don't shell out like 10 bucks to rent one, and they are very rude about it. I also got undercooked gross french fries twice, and the tables weren't clean. They need to take lessons from Disney. But the rides are good, for thrill rides of course. You won't get the high quality Disney rides, but that's what makes them so amazing.
